At this, I interjected. "If it's just a scrubby piece of land, then why would you want it?" I asked.

He glared at me. "Stay out of this," he said. "You are too young and too new to say anything." Did he really just go there.

I stood and narrowed my eyes at him. "I have as much a right to say what is on my mind as anyone else in this room. I'm as much an Alpha as everyone else. If you take that land, my pack and I will be glad to help the Yurama pack eliminate you and yours. There is also a high chance that I may be able to get most of the loners on our side."

"Why? Because you're sleeping with one of them?" he asked smirking. All of the alphas in the room gasped. I growled at him.

"She is not the reason. You will leave her out of this," I demanded.

Alpha Aaron of the Castlelog pack spoke up. "You are with a female loner?" he asked. "I was unaware of there being such a thing. Is she your mate."

Dom smiled at his handy work. "Yes, please tell us all about your little... toy."

That really pushed my buttons. "You will not talk about my mate like that, Alpha Dom. I've shown you respect even when you didn't deserve it. Now you shall show me mine. My mate is a loner and she is female. Before I moved my pack, I had no knowledge of her presence there. She had been unknown to the werewolf society for quite sometime, but she doesn't want to have attention brought to her and neither do I."

None of the alphas said anything. So, Alpha Aaron finally finished. "I think we are finished here," he said. "If the Redsin pack decides to take Freeland, they will be omitted. Meeting adjourned."

Once he said the final words, I bolted. When I got back home, I went upstairs to find my room empty. Then, I panicked. Dani wasn't here and I didn't know where she was. All I thought about was the need to find her.

Dani's P.O.V.

I told Katie all about how I was captured the night before. She was horrified when I told I'd been shot and broken my wrist. Then, she started to look me over and I just laughed. Of course, she got all defensive and said it was no laughing matter. That I could've died. Which was true in some ways, but then again it's harder to kill a werewolf than a person.

Once I was finished telling her about leaving Jace and not being able to tell him that I loved him, she started asking questions.

My best friend came over to hug me then. "It's okay, Dani. As long as you're headed in the right direction."

A smiled appeared on my lips as I pulled back. "God, what did i do to deserve a friend like you?"

She laughed. "That's what I would like to know. Come on, let's go get a burger or something. I'm starving."

So, we did. We headed down town to a little fast food place and ordered sodas, burgers, and fries. After getting our food, we sat down to talk and gossip, just like the pack had never come here.

Jace's P.O.V.

I found her scent just outside of my house near the woods. I followed it in the direction of her house, in wolf form, but the in veered into a different direction. All that was on my mind is that she'd been captured again. I mean why else would she change direction from her house?
