Why did Logan always show up when Lisa was at her most embarrassing and awkward moments? Now he had heard everything she said.

She felt humiliated, awkward, and, above all, furious.

She tried to pull away from him again and stomped off in anger. But her steps were unsteady, and she nearly stumbled more than once. So, she started running.

But how could she outrun Logan's long strides? He caught her in an instant, grabbing her arm. "Why are you running?" he asked.

"You think I'm going to wait around for you to laugh at me?" Her eyes were red with tears.

"What would I laugh at you for?" he asked.

Lisa turned her face away. "You'd laugh at me for being a fool. When you liked me, I rejected you. Now that you've moved on, I've fallen for you... Isn't that enough for you to laugh at?

"You've seen it all now, Logan. Are you satisfied?" She snapped at him in shame and frustration.

Logan remained silent. His dark eyes swirled with unspoken emotions as he gazed at her. "What did you say?"

Lisa didn't want to hold back anymore, since he had already seen and heard everything. "I said I've fallen for you. Is that enough—"

Her words were silenced as his lips met hers—a kiss both searing and cool at once. The heat came from his mouth, while the coolness lingered on his lips.

Lisa's eyes widened in shock. How could he kiss her?

He had a girlfriend!

He had already moved on—so how could he still kiss her? And yet, in this moment, his kiss felt like a lifeline. It filled the emptiness inside her and soothed the ache in her heart. But she knew they couldn't do this.

"Liz, you're accusing me without any evidence. Did you actually see me do anything with her?" He leaned in slightly, looking at her reddened eyes.

Of course, Lisa hadn't seen it, but earlier today, she had witnessed enough at the tea house. "You two were all over each other in public, so I can only imagine what you get up to in private. Logan, you men are all the same, driven by your basic instincts. I know that better than anyone."

Over the years, she had witnessed too many women going through abortions, all because of men.

"You mean this?" Logan touched his neck.

Lisa's mind flashed back to the mark she had seen and closed her eyes. "Logan, stay away from me. Take your girlfriend and don't show your face around me. If you can't even do that, then I'll go. I'll apply for an overseas program and get as far away from you as possible, okay?"

If he kept appearing in her life, she knew she'd never be able to erase him from her heart.

Loving someone was simple, but forgetting them was far too difficult.
