"Fighting?" I squeaked. I knew that he was very, how do I out it? He had a very short temper, but I didn't think that he would get into fights, and the tone that he used and the example of fighting was leading me to believe it was a regular occurrence. Shaking my head slightly to stop myself from thinking too much I continued talking.
"That's on land. In the water it's completely different. Trust me. You'll need your arms out for balance." I told him completely sure of myself.
"Bet you I won't."
"Bet you that you will."
"Really love?"
"You're on. Winner has to do something the other person says for the rest of the day." I said, sticking my hand out.
"Deal." He challenged, shaking my hand firmly.
After a few more minutes of talking, it was time to go into the water. I threw my shirt over my head and slid my shorts down my thick legs. My body type was muscular Even though I didn't have too much extra fat on me, my legs were thick and muscular.
I could feel Michael looking at me the whole time, and I felt my face heat up. I quickly put my wet suit on and turned to Michael, picking up my board in the process. I had put sunscreen on up at the car so I didn't need to worry about any more sun protection so I was ready to go. Michael however wasn't.
"Hurry up, we don't have all day. The sun will set in an hour and a bit." I rushed him. Michael has a smug look on his face as he started into my eyes. Awkwardly I averted my gaze to my feet and muttered for him to hurry up. The light green singlet top that Michael worn was thrown onto the sand next to my clothes. He picked up his board with one hand and stared at me patiently. I looked up at him, and I swear my heart stopped beating for a moment.
Muscle.
That's all I could think. His tanned skin practically shone in the sun. His torso was, putting it bluntly, perfect. His arms, perfect. His body was sculpted from what only hard and many hours of exercise and healthy eating could make. He was ripped.
"Um, d-did you b-bring an s-swimming shirt?" I stuttered.
"Why would I need a swimming shirt there love?" he asked with a smug tone. "Don't you like it?"
"Shut up," I hissed, bright red. "The board has wax. Lying on it and moving on it will be uncomfortable and painful after a while. You could get board rash."
"Oh, I think it's very manly," I joked with a grin which made him scoff. "The sets coming. The first wave is always the smallest, so take that one. Turn around now and face the beach." I instructed.
A small growl left his lips at my command. "You're bossing me around." He growled. "You know that I don't take well to that." I raised both hands in the air as a sign of no harm meant.
"Sorry, do it yourself then." I said, my words harsher than my tone. Michael sighed.
"Don't be sorry, just don't instruct me. Guide me." He said. Does he know how funny that sounds? I thought in my head.
"Paddle now!" I exclaimed, cutting the discussion short. Michael's muscles worked, flexing as they paddled. "Remember where to put your feet!" I shouted to him as the wave picked him up.
He was out of sight as the wave passed me, so I wasn't sure what was happening. Suddenly, I saw Michael spring up to his feet from one side, before falling straight over and into the water. I erupted into a fit of laughter as Michael's non amused face appeared in the water. He shoved his wet hair back with his hands and pulled himself back on the board, then paddled over to me.
"Maybe I should put my arms out for balance," he muttered and shot me a sheepish grin.
