Everyone knew mal riders were the worst surfers out there. They had the biggest boards which automatically made them a danger because they are harder to steer and to control. Mal riders are always older people, the last generation of surfers whose bodies got too old to handle the fancy tricks and hard paddles out to the back of the break. Being older, they thought they were wiser which lead them to believe they ran the beach and always have priority on the waves. They never move because the wave they're riding always come first. It's like the rules of surfing don't apply to them anymore.

"What the," I muttered. I felt myself being lifted up. I was pressed tightly into Michael's bare chest, and if it were in any different circumstances I would be in heaven.

"Stay with me Alana, where else are you hurt?" he asked panicked. "I should never have left you. That bastard knew you were there. When I find him I'm going it fucking rip his throat out, after I've torn every limb from his pathetic excuse of a body." He growled, sending chills down my spine.

"It's okay Michael, calm down." I assured him but winced slightly when a wave broke against Michael's back that made me jolt. He picked up his pace and the next thing I know I'm gently being placed on the ground.

"Does anything else hurt?" he questioned, eyes roaming all over my body checking for any other cuts or injuries.

"Just my head," I groaned. "And my neck has a slight ache. I hit it on the sand when the wave hit me."

"It's alright love, keep the pressure on and I'll get you to a doctor". He said gently, holding me delicately as I rested on the warm sand.

"Alana!!" I heard two panicked voices yelling over again. Shifting my head to face the direction the voices were coming from, I saw a distressed Blake and Tanner sprinting over to me.

"What the fuck happened!?" Blake yelled/asked the same time Tanner exclaimed "Shit Alana, are you okay?!" They both crouched down next to me studying me intently. Blake reached out to hug me, but Michael growled lowly at him in warning, pulling me tighter into his chest.

"What the fuck is wrong with your voice man? Give me my sister." Blake hissed, angry that Michael wasn't letting him near me.

"Over my dead body," Michael growled, ignoring the comment about his voice.

"That can be arranged," Blake hissed back.

"Please, you couldn't put a finger on me. I'd rip your throat out before you even started to think about what was happening." Michael growled in response.

Stopping suddenly made a dizzy spell come rushing over me, but I steadied myself and pushed through it.

"Michael," I pleaded my voice kind of quiet, still panting for air. He didn't look glance my way and he continued assaulting the man. "Michael!" I yelled louder and more forcefully desperate to get his attention. I could feel my heart racing and it only increased when his head whipped around to face me.

"I told you not to move," he said with no emotion in his voice. "Your head will hurt even more than it already does." The pain in my head was the least of my worries right now.

His eyes were as red as fire, glowing so brightly you could see them a mile away. And that men one thing; anger. My heart froze and my blood stilled. I knew the anger wasn't directed towards me, but I still felt frightened with a man as dangerous as Michael staring at me like that. His bright red eyes looked as though they were made of lava and was burning a hole through me.

"Alana," he growled and took a step towards me. We had both long forgotten about the man lying practically unconscious on the sand as the fear took over me. I shakily took a step back, retreating and putting distance between us. A small growl erupted from his throat once again as he took another step towards me and I matched it with a step back.

I wasn't looking where I was going, and I felt my stomach drop from the shock of tripping over a small hole in the sand. A small yelp left my lips and I plummeted not so gracefully to the ground. Bracing myself for impact, I closed my eyes tightly but they shot straight back open when I felt arms wrap around me.
