I nodded. "We'll leave at 2 PM tomorrow. Adjust accordingly"
"W-Where are we going? I-I mean, do I have to pack summer clothes or winter...?"
"Paris"
"W-Woah, really?"
"Ashley, do I look like someone who'd joke?"
"N-No, it is just... that is one of the places I always wanted to go to"
"Good then"
I nodded my head. "Okay, come on"
"Huh?"
"Come" he started moving towards the stairs and I followed him.
He opened the door to his room as we reached upstairs. I was somewhat confused...
"Today's our wedding night" I heard him say. "Don't tell me you were planning on sleeping in another room"
I looked at him shocked. "W-What? I am not sleeping here!"
"Come on, trust me. I am not gonna do anything" he smirked.
"Oh no. I'm gonna sleep--"
"Listen to me" he demanded. "At once. I don't like it when you don't"
"Oh, so you're gonna control me now?"
"Any problems?"
I looked down and nodded my head in denial. I don't even have the right to tell him that this is just not fair. Life is so unfair sometimes that I start to believe that God isn't real. I mean, how can the good ones have such a bad fate sometimes and how can the bad ones always stay happy? Is this Karma? I don't think so.
"Good"
He went and sat down on the bed by the side. I also went and sat at the farthest side.
"So" he started speaking. "I hope this marriage succeeds"
I looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "Huh?"
"What huh?"
"N-Nothing"
Yeah, that is how this marriage is gonna work. By making me afraid of every single word I say.
"You wanna sleep yet? Or talk?"
"I don't know... maybe sleep..."
"Then sleep"
"Ah... y-you should sleep too"
"Stop telling me what I should do. Do you think that if I wanted to do something to you, it would be prevented if I sleep?"
I looked down. "Y-You are not doing anything, r-right?"
"Don't irritate me. I am not"
"Oh... okay..."
I decided to trust him on this and sleep. I was feeling really tired after this all anyway.
I laid down and pulled the quilt on me.
"Won't you change?"
"I-I... um... I don't have any clothes here..." I looked down.
"Why?"
"Did you forget I was kidnapped?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Nah"
"Ah, it is 8 AM"
"We make the rules here"
I looked at him with a 'are you serious' face.
"Hey, don't make faces"
"Ah, you have changed"
"Oh, have I?"
"Yes!"
"Is it a good change?"
"Yes..."
"Then let it be"
I nodded. "So. How was your sleep?"
"Good, I guess" I replied.
"In my arms?"
Oh God, why is he talking such cheesy stuff?
"Y-yeah"
"Good"
I smiled at him. He looked at me. "So, you didn't explain to me why you said those words yesterday. Explain me now"
"Um..." I started thinking. "I... oh yeah. I received a call... it was from an unknown number... and when I picked it up... there was a distorted voice. I couldn't recognize it, but it was a he, I guess. He told me that I will have to say those words to you, or... they'll kill me... so I..."
"So you feared them more than me, you wanna say?"
"I... you were pretty good to me... guess that's why I did it... but I learned my lesson, Vincent..." I looked down as I couldn't see his eyes anymore.
