Laura soon noticed that most of the comments were criticizing her, along with demanding their money back.

She snorted. "They're all just a bunch of broke losers. They want to get rich quickly, but they can't bear to part with their money. How do they expect to make big money like this?"

Laura did not see any problem with the matter and went back to sleep. But not long after, she was woken up after being yanked to the floor by her hair.

Owen slapped her hard across the face. "I told you to deal with the problem. Do you really think that you can solve it just by writing a few words online? Who told you that you can go back to sleep?"

Laura explained through the pain, "I didn't think it would be such a big deal! PZ Groups is a huge international company, no? The public will trust us."

"Trust us? The authorities are already investigating the investment project. How many lives do you think you have to atone for your mistakes if anything goes wrong?"

"But our company's investments are legitimate investments, no? What's there to be afraid of?"

Owen replied coldly, "Drop the act, Laura. Don't pretend that you don't know anything about the shady practices behind this investment project."

Continuing to play dumb was just pathetic at that point.

Owen stared at Laura and continued, "You're already in the same boat with us. You now have only two choices. You either stay on the boat with us, or you'll be left behind in the waters as a corpse."

Laura's expression shifted. "I have an idea. Can I talk directly to the boss instead?"

"Who the hell do you think you are? What gives you the right to see the boss? Listen well. You've got three days to solve this problem. If you can't, you won't be alive to see the fourth day."

Terrified, Laura began to beg for mercy. "Mr. Jenkins, please, let me see the boss! I—"

Owen immediately ordered his men to beat her up on the spot.

He looked down at her and said, "This is a small lesson for you. If you don't solve this problem in three days, you'll have to face the consequences."

With that, Owen left the hotel room once more.

Laura struggled to get up from the floor and then wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth. "Fucking assholes."
