Ruth couldn't even force a smile. She stared at Noelle coldly. "Ms. Liddell, are you determined to file a lawsuit?"

Noelle nodded. "That's right. We should let the court handle this."

She remembered Samantha was still out on bail. If this incident escalated, Samantha would be taken into custody.

Ruth's expression turned unpleasant. "Since Ms. Liddell insists, then the Merlock family will see this through to the end. After all, the video only captured that girl tampering with things. There's no proof that Samantha ordered it. Even if this goes to court, we have nothing to be afraid of."

Cedric's gaze hardened. "I heard your son slept around with women and even got someone killed."

The woman argued, "Do you think that joke is acceptable?"

Salena turned red with anger. She would have lashed out if it were anyone else. But since it was Cedric, she had no choice but to swallow her anger and force a smile.

"I'll keep that in mind. But aren't you afraid Ms. Liddell will be upset that you're speaking so poorly of her brother?"

After all, Donovan was Noelle's brother. Noelle met her gaze calmly. "I cut ties with the Liddell family long ago."

"Ms. Liddell, I heard your parents passed away, and your brother raised you. How could you just sever ties with them?" Salena pressed Noelle as if she had caught onto her weakness.
