Noelle forced a smile. "To be precise, he's my ex-boyfriend."

She and Cedric were over.

Jeremy cocked a brow as he looked her over, not quite believing her words. He said flatly, "Are you saying you didn't hold on to a man like Cedric Greene, with his status and power, and even broke up with him? Are you out of your mind?"

Noelle really wanted to retort. But she chose to endure it after remembering Mia's advice.

She answered calmly, "Honesty is important in a relationship. But he kept deceiving me. So I didn't think it was worth staying together."

Jeremy huffed. "So, in other words, you dumped him?"

Suddenly, Jeremy's demeanor shifted. "Nice to meet you, Ms. Liddell. I'm Jeremy Sulton. I was testing you earlier to see whether you two were just having a lovers' quarrel, and you came here trying to play with me. Nothing more."
