Noelle's gaze was unwavering.

Jeremy's expression shifted. "Don't you think it's a bad deal to lose a billionaire boyfriend for this lawsuit? You could still marry rich if you threaten Cedric with this. Maybe that would even put your parents at ease."

"Enough." Noelle's gaze sharpened. "My parents are dead. The only thing that could bring them peace is seeing our enemies pay."

Jeremy hummed. "You are a determined avenger. But that only makes me more reassured."

Noelle stood up. "Mr. Sulton, I'd appreciate it if you'd stop testing my resolve now that you've agreed to take my case. It makes you look unprofessional."

Jeremy clicked his tongue. "Don't worry, Ms. Liddell. You'll see my professionalism soon enough. Isn't that why you came to me?"

"Good. Contact me anytime if you need any clarification on the materials." Noelle turned and left the office. Now that this matter was finally settled, her heart felt much at ease.

Mia was waiting outside. She hurried over when she saw Noelle come out. "Well? How'd it go?"

Noelle smiled. "It worked. He agreed to take the case."

Mia grinned. "I told you it would."

Noelle knew it wasn't the place to talk further, so the two of them got into the lift together.

Back in the office, Jeremy stood by the window and watched Noelle and Mia leave together. A tall man shadowed, clearly a bodyguard.

The bodyguard noticed Jeremy's gaze and stared at him with a dangerous look.

Jeremy smiled. What exactly was Cedric trying to pull? Had he sent Noelle to him?

Whatever the case, Jeremy swore he would go all out since both the Merlocks and the Greenes were involved.
