Noelle could guess why Cedric was here. It was most likely that he knew about the request for his testimony.

After a moment of silence, she spoke up. "Sean requested that you testify in court, and only then will he hand over the evidence."

"I know, and I promised you that I'd testify. That hasn't changed." Back then, though, he hadn't told Noelle that he was the witness.

Now, there was nothing he could say to explain the full truth. He cut up some meat and placed it on her plate. "Don't worry. I'll surely testify in court. Those who deserve punishment won't walk away free."

Noelle looked down at the meat on her plate and found that it was her favorite part. He still remembered. Every time they ate out, he'd order her favorite dishes and remember all her preferences.

Her eyes welled slightly with tears as she lowered her head and softly replied, "Okay. Got it."

"Eat up. It won't taste as good once it gets cold."

Cedric's tone was the same as always. He was always gentle and caring, yet never crossed the line, and it was almost impossible for her to hate him.

She changed the subject and asked, "What about the other two? Why aren't they back yet?"

That was when she noticed a message on her phone from Mia. "Something came up, and we left ahead to take care of it. Go ahead and enjoy your food."

After reading the message, Noelle understood why Cedric was there. She set her phone aside and tried the piece of meat he'd given her. It did taste so good.

The atmosphere in the private room remained quiet as the two ate without talking much. After setting down her cutlery, Noelle looked at Cedric and asked, "How's Mrs. Greene doing?"

"There are updates on the kidney donor, and we'll arrange for surgery soon."

Noelle sighed in relief. To be honest, she felt truly disgusted by Ruth's manipulations. The way the latter clung to the Greenes and never let go was downright disturbing.
