“Liam, long time no see.”

I looked up, surprised to see Emma.

In just three days, she seemed to have regained her former glory, dressed head to toe in designer clothes that gleamed in the sunlight.

“What are you doing here?” I asked warily, stepping back.

“Haha, I’m just here to see how you’re doing,” Emma said with a seductive smile as she eyed me up and down.

“So, how’s it going? Without me, you’re like a stray dog begging for scraps, aren’t you?”

“You!” I clenched my fists, struggling to contain my anger.

“Liam, deep down, I’m actually a kind person,” Emma suddenly said, dropping her smile and sounding sincere.

She stepped closer, standing directly in front of me with her legs apart.

“If you crawl back to me like a dog, I’ll give you a job and ensure you never want for anything again. What do you say?”

“Dream on!” I shouted furiously, “Emma, do you really think you can still humiliate me like you used to? In your dreams!”

“Is that so?” Emma’s eyes narrowed, her expression turning vicious.

“Liam, do you really think you can escape me? Without me, you’re nothing! Sooner or later, you’ll be begging at my feet like a dog!”

At that moment, a cold voice cut in.

“Miss Lynn, watch your language.”

I turned around in surprise to see a familiar figure approaching.

“Grace?” I called out her name in disbelief.

Grace, my childhood neighbor, whom I hadn’t seen in years, had blossomed into a beautiful and confident businesswoman.

“Liam, it’s been a while.”

Grace nodded at me before turning her gaze to Emma.

“Miss Lynn, Liam is a friend of mine. I’d appreciate it if you stopped harassing him.”

“Oh? Who do you think you are, meddling in my business?” Emma sneered, looking Grace up and down.

“Miss Lynn, I suggest you avoid making enemies with people you shouldn’t.”

Emma’s face turned ashen, and she was at a loss for words.

She had never imagined that the young woman before her could wield such power.

Even her father had warned her not to provoke this woman under any circumstances.

“Liam, don’t get cocky!” Emma spat through gritted teeth.

“Even if the Grace’s family is backing you, you’re still just a stray dog that no one wants! One day, you’ll come crawling back to me!”

“Emma, you might want to stop throwing tantrums,” I said coldly. “From now on, we’re done. You’d better stay away from me, or don’t blame me for what happens next.”

Emma trembled with rage, her eyes bulging with fury.

But under Grace’s icy gaze, she ultimately didn’t dare make a move.

“Liam Smith, this isn’t over! You just wait!” she snarled before storming off.
