The whole celebration was ruined by Linda's outburst, and no one was in the mood to continue.

After a hasty end to the night, everyone went their separate ways.

But what I didn't expect was to find Emma standing at my doorstep when I got home.

“Liam, we need to talk,” Emma suddenly appeared at my door, her face looking vulnerable.

I stared at her coldly, filled with caution. Ever since her mother showed up earlier, I had a bad feeling. And now, here she was again, trying to entangle me.

“What’s there to talk about? We’re done,” I said sharply, my tone laced with irritation.

“Liam, I’m pregnant,” Emma said, her voice trembling with a hint of pleading.

My heart skipped a beat, and tension filled the air. Was she really trying to trap me with this?

“So what? What does that have to do with me?”

“Liam, the baby is yours,” Emma’s voice quivered as she spoke, her eyes filled with tears.

“That night, you got drunk and…”

“Enough!” I cut her off angrily, my voice rising in frustration.

“Emma, do you really think this trick will work on me? I’ve never touched you!”

“You’re lying! It was you!” Emma screamed, her voice hysterical.

“Or maybe you’re just ashamed and decided to have someone assault me!”

I couldn’t help but laugh bitterly. This woman would go to any lengths to get what she wanted, even concocting such elaborate lies.

“Emma, you and your mother sure know how to put on a show,” I said sarcastically, my tone biting. “First, it’s domestic abuse, and now this. How long have you two been rehearsing this act?”

“You!” Emma trembled with rage, her face turning pale. She hadn’t expected this response from me.

“I’m warning you—don’t come near me again,” I said coldly, my tone final. “Or else, don’t blame me for what happens next.”
