“Nothing guys. Seriously. ” I let out. “I've just been helping Kye catch up with school.”

The lie was smooth against my lips, but I prayed they bought it. The last thing I wanted was for anyone to know about the things he was making me do. My thighs as a memory flashed in my mind, and just as quickly as thought came, I pushed it back again.

“Why?” Liam threw in another question. “There are so many others that could have helped him…”

The rest of his words were drowned out immediately at the sound of the bell.

“You know what, I'm just going to grab my things” I cut in before the others could. “I have a class now. I'll talk to you later.”

Liam tried to speak again, but I didn't pay him any mind. Instead, I grabbed my bag, before heading towards my class. I had barely taken a seat in my class, when my phone pinged with a message.

“That was close, wasn't it?” I read the text, and I knew exactly who it was. “But maybe next time, maybe we can tell Liam the truth?”

Kye had sent the text, but instead of responding to him, I threw the phone back into my bag. I didn't dare bother about a reply for him, not when the entire class was still talking about the video. Kye didn't send me any more messages after that, and I finally breathed the fact that he was going to let me be.

School went by in a blur, and more and more classes went by without neither Liam nor Kye's presence. I couldn't be grateful enough for that, until I happened to run into Liam and his friend, just at the entrance to the cafeteria.

“Liam.” A frown made its way to my face as I took him in. He was standing and almost leaning against one of the pillars, but it was his lack of crutches there of that made me mad. “Where are your crutches?”

“Ava.” He called to me. I watched him limp a bit just so he could catch up to me, and I didn't know how I felt about the whole ordeal. “There you are. I've been looking everywhere for you.”

“It doesn't answer my question though.” I shook my head. “Why aren't you using your crutches? They were gotten for a reason, you know. How are you going to get better if you don't ….”

“I'm fine, Ava.” Liam cut me off. “You're just worrying unnecessarily. It's not a big deal. I can totally walk without any support.”

“Really?” Asher chipped in. “So, you're saying I shouldn't tell her how you almost tripped and fell on your face then?”
