"Dorian," Lena said, her voice barely above a whisper, "I can head to the hospital on my own. You and Josie should get back to what you were doing."

Josefina interjected with sisterly concern. "Lena, if you're unwell, you need to see a doctor right away. Dorian and I won't have peace of mind until we're sure you're alright."

Panic churned within Lena. She feared that Josefina would unearth the secrets hidden within her. As Lena racked her brain for a way out, Dorian chimed in with agreement. "Lena, let Josie come with us. She's got a knack for medicine, and she can help interpret the results."

Clutching her stomach, Lena turned to Dorian with a feigned plea. "Dorian, I need the restroom. I've got a terrible stomachache." Once inside the bathroom, Lena's mind raced for a solution.

"Lena, calm down," Dorian urged. "Josie and I care about you. Don't overthink things. Please come back."

"I won't," Lena replied firmly. "I need some time alone. Don't worry about me. Dorian, you go back to work."

The call ended, and Josefina was in shock—Lena had indeed run away. Josefina and Percy exchanged looks, both understanding that their plan had thwarted.

"Let's give Lena the space she needs to cool off," Josefina suggested to Dorian.

Dorian nodded, though worry lingered. "I'll try calling her again later."

Josefina's phone rang, and Alex's voice was frantic on the other end. "Ms. Josefina, you're needed at the office immediately."
