Sarah accepted the completed assessment, taking out a red pen to mark it carefully.

Soon, she placed another test in front of Zachary, speaking softly, "Answer one question of mine for each math problem you solve."

She picked up a timer.

Though confused, Zachary nodded hesitantly.

Sarah watched him bend over the paper seriously. The test contained standard calculus problems - not particularly difficult, but requiring careful attention to avoid mistakes.

"Did you have a girlfriend three years ago?" she asked.

Zachary's pen trembled - he hadn't expected such a... direct question.

After a moment's thought, he replied, "Yes."

Sarah watched him complete the first problem, pressed the timer, and recorded the time.

As Zachary started the second problem, Sarah spoke again. "Tell me, was your girlfriend Vivian?"

"No!" he answered firmly.

"Then did you know me?" she asked next.

Zachary wrote the next line and said, "I'm done."

He slowly put down his pen, unwilling to continue after just three questions.

Sarah recorded the third time without even looking at his answers.

Sarah didn't even stand up, remaining firmly seated. "What do you want? Just say it."

Mrs. Chancer said, "After all, you were married to James for three whole years without giving us any children, which is one reason we didn't like you. Fortunately, you divorced, so Charlotte could get pregnant now."

Sarah laughed outright, looking at Mrs. Chancer mockingly. "Mrs. Chancer, I don't understand why you've suddenly come to tell me this. During those three years of marriage, your son chose to not touch me for Charlotte's sake. How is that my fault?"

Mrs. Chancers expression soured. She hadn't known about the three years, but that wasn't her focus today. "Sarah, you took so much property in the divorce from my son. I won't dispute that, but you must agree to one condition. Let Charlotte go. Beyond that, you can make any demands you want."

Sarah sneered, "I have only one demand - stay away and stop bothering me."

"Sarah! Don't go too far! You've already sent my daughter to a psychiatric hospital, and now you won't let Charlotte go. Do you want to destroy our entire family?" Mrs. Chancer angrily slammed the table.

Sarah glanced at her hand dismissively. "I never thought that way. I don't deserve such accusations. Mrs. Chancer, if this is all you came to say, you can leave now."
