"Zachary, you're here?" Charlie greeted with a sycophantic tone. Indeed, it was Zachary, who frowned slightly. About twenty minutes ago, Charlie had called him, claiming Sarah was in danger and that he needed to hurry over. Zachary had rushed here as quickly as possible, but now couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Why did Charlie's smile seem so... unsettling?

"What's wrong with Miss Sanders?" Zachary asked, his gaze serious.

Charlie, sensing he had played his cards right, pointed toward Sarah's room and said meaningfully, "Miss Sanders is in that room. She's in critical condition right now. Hurry, go save her."

He even gave an expression that implied men would understand.

Zachary's unease grew. He walked into Sarah's room, only to find her lying on the bed, seemingly unconscious.

"Sasa?" He rushed over, his voice full of concern.

From outside the door, Charlie's voice rang out. "Zachary, time is money. I've given you what you wanted. Go ahead and take it."

Zachary's expression darkened as he understood what Charlie was implying. Looking at Sarah's still form, worry was the only thing that filled his heart.

He reached to feel her forehead, trying to gauge her temperature, but before he could touch her, a warm, soft hand caught his. To his shock, Sarah, who was supposed to be unconscious, opened her eyes. She placed her other hand over Zachary's mouth, then shushed him.

"Take me out of the Wesley house first," she whispered. "We'll talk outside."

Then, she closed her eyes again.

Zachary, without hesitation, scooped her up into his arms and rushed out of the room. As they passed Charlie, he shot them a strange, almost smug look. "Zachary, what's going on?"

Zachary, walking swiftly, only threw back one sentence. "I'm taking her to my place."

Charlie smirked behind him. "Better hurry, I'm guessing the drug will kick in soon."

Her expression grew more distant as she continued. "But tonight, I can't go back to the Wesley house."

"Mr. Reynolds, thank you for helping me. You can leave now."

Zachary shook his head firmly. "Where are you planning to go?"

After a moment of thought, Sarah replied, "I'll go to the factory. I can stay in the office for the night."

She coughed a few times, the lingering effects of the rainstorm and cold that hadn't fully healed yet. It seemed as though there might be some lasting consequences.

"Come to my place. You'll sleep on the bed, and I'll sleep on the floor." Zachary's gaze was stubborn as he gently pulled on her arm.
