“I’m not helping you out of the goodness of my heart, Vincent. If I’ve chosen to help you, then you’ll have to pay the price. I hope you’re worth it.” Tyrone glanced at his watch before getting up to leave.

It was late. Alicia would be worried if he stayed out any longer.

“Tyrone, you know you’re in a dangerous situation right now…” Vincent hurried after him.

“If Alicia keeps staying by your side, she’ll only end up getting pulled into this mess. If something really happens to you, I’ll step in. But if Alicia decides to come back to me, don’t blame me for not playing nice.” Vincent wanted to make it clear—he wasn’t about to let Alicia go so easily.

Tyrone ignored him.

Vincent tried to say more, but Tyrone had already stepped into the elevator and closed the doors, shutting him out.

Vincent took a deep breath, frustration simmering beneath the surface. In his eyes, Tyrone was nothing short of a madman.

Alicia lay awake in bed, waiting for what felt like forever. With Tyrone still not home, sleep was impossible.

She was starting to realize how much she relied on him—maybe a little too much. It was becoming a real problem; if Tyrone went on a business trip or stayed out late, she’d toss and turn all night, unable to rest.

Sighing, Alicia grabbed her phone and scrolled through Tyrone’s social feed. It was spotless, not a single post, his profile picture just a stark black square.

Suddenly, she heard sounds at the door.

Alicia shot up and ran out to the living room.

Tyrone was back. Judging by the look in his eyes, he’d guessed she wouldn’t be asleep, so he’d brought her a late-night snack.

Alicia ran to him and wrapped her arms around his waist.

“Couldn’t sleep?” Tyrone asked gently.

“Not at all.” She’d been replaying his words all evening. Whoever had been scheming against the White and Lynch families for all these years wasn’t about to back off now—not when things were coming to a head.

Especially now that Maddox was gone and Reginald’s health was getting worse by the day…
