After a brief pause, Natalia forced a smile and spoke up. “Tyrone, you can’t have him living in a hotel forever, can you? Look at what people are saying online—they’re calling you heartless, claiming you’re not giving your own brother a single property. It’s not good for your reputation, you know. It could hurt your business.”

Tyrone just shrugged, his tone cool and dismissive. “Let them talk. My reputation doesn’t matter much to me.” He could already see right through Natalia’s act.

The old man must have been blind to think Natalia was some sort of brilliant protégé.

“Oh?” Tyrone’s eyes narrowed, his voice dropping, laced with anger. “You, of all people—the student the Lynch family personally sponsored—hear these rumors spreading at school, and you didn’t immediately step in to stop them? Tell me, what’s the point of the Lynch family investing in you at all?”

Natalia’s heart skipped a beat. She hadn’t expected Tyrone to be so impervious.

“Tyrone, I did! I tried to stop it right away, but there are just too many people spreading lies—” she blurted out, trying to defend herself.

“Let’s be blunt,” Tyrone cut her off coldly, his gaze icy. “If you’re the Lynch family’s loyal hound, and you can’t even stop a few rumors, maybe you’re just not up to the job. You’ve let your masters down.” He paused, letting the words sink in. “I’ll have someone trace the source of these rumors. When the time comes, you’d better prove yourself useful. The Lynch family doesn’t keep useless dogs.”
