There was no way Vincent could stand by and watch his own sister go to jail.
"Alicia, what are you doing now?" Vincent sighed, rubbing his temples as he walked over to her. "If something's wrong, just tell me. I'll fix it. Don't make a scene."
Tyrone glanced at Vincent, barely disguising his indifference, and pulled Alicia protectively into his arms. "Mr. Lawson, I don't think my wife's affairs are any of your business."
"Tyrone!" Vincent's voice was sharp with anger as he glared at him. "I told you before—she's mine."
A cold, mocking smile played on Tyrone's lips. "Oh, really? You two have this?" He reached into his pocket and, with deliberate flair, produced a marriage certificate.
Vincent's face turned ashen.
Alicia stared at Tyrone in shock. He actually carried their marriage certificate around with him…
"Tyrone, I don't care what your game is, but stay away from my people." Vincent grabbed Tyrone's collar, his voice shaking with rage. "Don't touch her!"
"Vin…" Mina hurried forward, glancing anxiously at the gathering onlookers, some of whom had pulled out their phones to record. The last thing she wanted was for this scene to go viral and become the latest gossip in their social circles.
But Vincent was already losing control.
The moment Tyrone flashed that certificate, something in him snapped.
Alicia had been with him for four years, since she was just nineteen. Even though Vincent had always known he would never marry her, he'd long ago considered Alicia his—his possession, his territory.
The thought of her belonging to someone else was unbearable.
He couldn't accept it.
"Vincent, you're pathetic," Tyrone said, brushing Vincent's hand off and pointedly lacing his fingers through Alicia's. "That's what I should be telling you. From now on, keep your hands off my wife."
"Alicia…" Vincent pleaded. "Didn't we already settle all that happened back then?"
Alicia had promised not to press charges.
"You really think it was nothing?" Alicia met Vincent's gaze, voice trembling. "My left ear—permanently deaf. My fingers—broken, making daily life a struggle. My eyesight—almost gone. Can you even stomach watching those videos they recorded?"
Tears threatened to spill as she spoke. "I'm not letting this go."
"Alicia! Tyrone's going to leave you, you know!" Mina shouted, her words laced with venom.
"Miss Holloway, you're deluding yourself," Tyrone cut in, his tone dark as steel. "Even if we divorce someday, Alicia will still stand on ground you could never hope to reach."
He would make sure she had every resource she needed—enough to hold her head high, no matter what.
