The Austin Arrangement novel Chapter 48

The day had flew past me once I got into the studio and got to doing what I love to do. I had a couple of hours to myself before classes began,but now that classes were over I was cleaning myself up for dinner with The Austin's.

"Vanessa,Are you here?"I heard Alex call from the studio. I was changing in my little box room that led into the studio so I could hear him well.

"I'm in here."I shouted,and buttoned up my jeans,before opening the door to him."I was just changing before I left,I didn't expect to see you today because of your schedule."

"Cancellation."Alex leaned against the wall mirror."You look nice,Where are you going?"

"Jeremy is coming to pick me up in a few minutes,we're having dinner with his parents."I grabbed my bag and shoved my ballet shoes into it."Are you free for the rest of the evening?"

"I have another appointment in thirty, but thankfully that's my last and I can go home."He folded his arms across his chest as he watched me."How are things with you and Mr Austin-Have you done the dirty deed?"

My lips curved into a smile,at that he raised an eyebrow."No,we haven't done it yet. But I want to-I just want it to be special."

"Such a girl thing to say."He chuckled. "I don't think your man Jeremy knows how to create the special moment that you want. But you could always take matters into your own hands."

Take matters into my own hands. Like create the special moment myself. Not a dinner,we do that all the time. Maybe I could arrange for us to go away for a weekend.

"Alex,You're a Genius."I laced my arms around his neck and hugged him."I don't know what I'd ever do without you."Jeremy caught my eye as he stood by the door of the studio."Jeremy,You're here."I pulled back from the hug a little embarrassed.

I know how Jeremy feels about Alex and I know how Alex feels about him. It's an awkward situation for everyone. But they're both in my life, I really do hope that they will get along at some point.

"Just in time I see,you look like you're ready to go."Jeremy stood with his hands in the pockets of his trousers,not bothering to take a glance in Alex's direction at all.

"Um,Yes I'm ready."I picked up my bag and hung it on my shoulder,other than me making movements there was no other noise in the room."Are you okay?"I whispered to Alex,since I know that he doesn't like to be around the man that is my husband.

"I'm fine,But I'm going to leave you to it. I'll see you during the week."Alex turned around and walked towards the doors of the studio,getting closer to Jeremy with every step. He stopped at the door since Jeremy was standing in the way.

He stood so casually,not bothering to move out of the way so Alex could pass. What the hell is he doing? My heart was pounding in my throat and I was just praying for him to move aside and not make a big thing out of it. Thankfully he moved and Alex walked out of the studio.

Now that Alex was out of sight,Jeremy walked towards me."We should get going,I'm sure dinner is ready and waiting."

We walked out of the studio together, before I decided to say anything to him about it."I wish you would be nicer to my friends,Alex is important to me."

"I didn't do anything wrong."He walked alongside me towards his car,acting like nothing had happened. But I could see the hint of a smirk on his face. He was trying to intimidate him.

"Look,I know that you're not fond of Alex. It's obvious! But I would really appreciate it if you made an effort with him."I took his arm and stopped him from walking."Please,Jeremy! For me?"

I impress him!

I guess I did good. He was happy that I brought him here and he seemed to be enjoying himself. I really hope the highlight of his weekend will be us having sex and not visiting the Macallan Estate.

"There's plenty more to come."I winked at him,before turning around and walking ahead of him with a smirk on my face. Of course,me telling him that there was plenty more to come was my way of hinting sex.

A weekend away,maybe he's not expecting sex to be on the cards. He could be hoping that it will. I've had him hanging by a thread for weeks but he's been patient with me. I think it's time.

We were seated at the Macallan bar, experiencing a Macallan whisky flight at the end of our tour. I'm not a big whisky drinker,this stuff was way too strong for my liking.

I was drinking it all the same just to keep up with Jeremy,the man who drinks more whisky than he does water. I've had about 3 glasses along the tour and now I was feeling a little on the giddy side.

"Can I buy you a bottle in The Macallan Boutique?"I pointed in the direction of the gift shop,filled with Macallan whisky and glassware."I'd like to get you something to remember this trip."

"I'm pretty sure I'm not going to forget this trip."He threw me a wink,before picking up his whisky glass and drinking the contents."Let's take a look, If you're not too drunk to walk that is?"

"Me-I'm not drunk!"I stood from my stool."I'm fine,Let's go take a look." Of course he wasn't convinced,maybe it was my slight sway and the amount of yawning I was doing. I get sleepy when I drink too much.
