Ziana’s POV
The past 2 days Zane and I have been in the library nonstop. We only leave to go to the bathroom. Killian’s father is running the pack while we are busy and Addie and Kai, joined my mother at the castle to begin looking through their books.
“This is a waste of time.” I sigh, smacking my head on the table. Zane looks up, tiredness and worry shining in his eyes.
“Don’t say that. This is the only thing that we can do right now. And I bet that we will find something soon. We will get him back.” Zane says, reach across the table to hold my hand comfortingly. My eyes begin to tear. “We can’t lose him. I just got him.” I say as Zane stands up and pulls me to him. I breathe in his scent, calming me just a little.
“She’s in the library.” I hear faintly, as footsteps then begin to approach the library.
The door opens revealing a tired bunch. Esmorelda, mom, Addie, and Kai enter. I pull myself away and run to Esmorelda.
“Have you found something?” I ask as my heart begins to race. She nods her head and makes her way to the table. She plops down her large back and pulls an old black and gary grimoire out.
Placing it on the table before flipping through the pages. My anxiety spikes as I wait and watch.
“It’s a powerful dark spell. We will need access to dark magic in order to find him.” She whispers as she stil flips through the pages.
Dark magic? There aren’t many of us that were turned with Franklin and I doubt I have enough to use. Mine is barely existent since I marked my mates. Esmorelda stops on the page and points to a hand scribed
paragraph, then begins to read.
“Once the spell is cast one is stuck in the plane of darkness tied between all planes. The only way to retrieve
them is to show them the light to come home.” She says and I scrunch my nose, then look at the book.
“That’s all it says? How the hell are we supposed to show him the light when we can’t find him?” I ask as
hopeless tears fill my eyes. NO. No crying.
“One of the spells we mixed together to find you is an old mating spell used to help find one’s other half. Or
as the spell called them, your light.” Esmorelda says, studying me. My mind shifts, slicking into place.
“I need to be the one to guide him home. Be his light.” I say and she confirms with a nod.
“While that is dandy, how do we get her to the transportation place without being lost in it ourselves?” Kai
asks. I turn to him to see he is pacing while trying to think.
“I believe we can use the type of spell we used to find you. The only issue is we need dark magic to be able to seek him out. It’s kind of like the dark magic has bound him in the realm and it will only reveal him if it feels the same type of magic that casted it.” Esmorelda says and my stomach plummets.
“But we don’t have anybody with dark magic.” I state and she shakes her head, then looks at my mother
warily.

“I thought about that and looked into your predicament.” She starts, then takes a deep breath. “I believe that if we can bind your wolf again, then your dark magic will resurface and the darkness will allow you to find him.” She explains as the room goes quiet and everybody stiffens.
“Do it.” I say at the same time the room erupts in shouts. “QUIET!” I yell, giving everybody a stern look.
“How certain are you of this Esmorelda?” Mom asks and the elder witch shakes her head.
“Not as certain as you would like me to be, I’m afraid. I don’t know if her dark magic will come back, or on the other hand if her wolf will come back. Our only other option is trying to hunt down a dark witch and from the sounds of it, most have been eradicated.” Esmorelda explains. I reach in to feel for Arora, she is worried, but
determined.
“As much as I don’t want to leave you again, I think she is right. The magic will emerge if I am no longer here to push it away. I consent to this, but if you don’t find him I will be pi*sed if it was all for nothing.” Aurora tells me and I smile, sadly..
“Aurora and I consent. Please do it.” I tell her and she nods, then looks around.
“We will need to wait until nightfall, when the moon is at it’s highest. I will gather the other witches to help as binding a wolf will take a lot of energy. As soon as you feel the magic, Addie can take you to the transportation plane. We will need to perform a spell for the two of you as well. When you find him you will have to be careful, his mind may be delicate. You will have to touch him, but you cannot let go of Addie or you will be lost as well. You will only have a short time to try to find him before the spell wears off.” She explains and I nod. She closes the book then looks at Addie.
“I need you to take me back to the castle please. Then when you come back here to rest, you will need your energy to hold in the plane.” Esmorelda says as she steps towards her. Kai steps forward.
“I’ll take you back to conserve her energy.” He says. And with that they leave.
“Are you sure about this honey?” Mom asks me. Her gray eyes are willed with worry and I smile.
“Yes. He’s my mate. I will not lose him.” I answer and she comes and wraps me in a hug.
