Tara shut Lance's door in a panic and hurriedly pressed the elevator button. What did he plan on doing?

Even though Lance didn't follow her, she quickly stepped into the elevator and went straight to the first floor.

Despite the late hour, the vacation villa was still brightly lit.

Tara quickened her pace and dropped the tray off in the kitchen before rushing back to her room.

Having washed her hands, she retreated beneath the covers. Lance's claim of being nice now felt hollow, given her refusal to submit to his implied advances. Was he now contemplating a more forceful approach?

Tara shook her head in disbelief. Even though she was living in a fictional world, she wasn't the female lead. Surely, the male lead wouldn't act so aggressively toward her.

Her thoughts spiraled, but eventually, exhaustion overtook her, and she drifted off to sleep. When she woke, sunlight was already streaming through her window. She glanced at the clock—it was 7:20 am.

She had been worried she might come down with a fever, but to her surprise, she felt refreshed.

After brushing her teeth and freshening up, she began her morning duties. First, she warmed a glass of milk. As she stared at it, nerves crept in.

When she found herself standing outside Lance's door, she took two deep breaths before knocking.

"Come in."

Tara's heart skipped a beat at the sound of his deep voice. She opened the door and stepped into the living room, holding the milk.

To her surprise, Lance wasn't in bed. Instead, he was sitting on the couch in a robe, casually reading a book.

He didn't even look up when she entered. It was as if the unsettling events of the previous night had been nothing more than a bad dream on her part.

Tara set the milk down on a coaster on the coffee table, and recalling that Lance had been drinking the night before, she began to calm down. Perhaps everything he'd said had been drunken nonsense.

Lance placed the glass of milk back onto the coaster. He hadn't looked at her even once the entire time. He was like a predator waiting patiently for the right moment to strike.

Later that morning, after delivering breakfast to the four men, Tara found herself chatting with some of the other housekeepers in the main hall.

Soren's entrance into the main hall, clad in a long coat, was undeniably magnetic. The housekeepers Tara had been talking to were instantly smitten, their attention completely consumed by him.

Feigning disinterest, Tara quickly turned and faced the opposite direction, resisting the urge to look even once. Her colleagues, in contrast, were openly and completely enthralled.

At that moment, Tara finally understood Gemma's predicament. Hiring housekeepers who wouldn't fall for Jonah and the others seemed like an impossible challenge.

After all, the men were too handsome, powerful, wealthy, and, on top of that, incredibly talented. Who wouldn't be drawn to them?

Yet hiring older housekeepers wasn't a perfect solution either. Even the security guards had to be young and good-looking when it came to the rich.
