As long as the housekeepers acted within acceptable boundaries and adhered to the house rules, neither Gemma nor Russell would dismiss them without good reason.

"Tara."

Soren's voice jolted Tara out of her thoughts. She turned swiftly. "Mr. Farrell."

Her greeting was polite yet distant, her posture tense as she worried the other housekeepers might misinterpret their interaction.

Soren smirked, his eyes twinkling. It was as if he had read her mind. "We're heading out. You're coming with us."

Tara wasn't thrilled about joining them, but with Stella nursing a sprained ankle, it was clear they'd expect her to step in.

"Where are you guys going, Mr. Farrell?"

Soren paused, his gaze steady. "The shooting range. Go and change into something else."

Tara hesitated but knew she had no choice. "Alright."

She returned to her room and changed into her usual black down jacket, emerging in an all-black ensemble.

As she stepped out, a low chuckle caught her attention. She turned to see Soren leaning casually against the wall near her door, his smirk firmly in place.

Tara nearly shouted. "M-Mr. Farrell?"

Soren chuckled again. "Looks like this ugly outfit is the only outfit you have."

Tara ignored his teasing and became more concerned with getting him to leave. If anyone saw them together, it would undoubtedly lead to misunderstandings.

"Don't say things like that," Tara snapped, her voice firm. There was nothing between them—yet.

Soren just smiled and said nothing. He entered the elevator first, and when Tara followed, she stood in the farthest corner away from him.

Her avoidance amused him, and his laughter only heightened her embarrassment.

When the elevator doors closed, Soren refrained from approaching her, allowing Tara's tense demeanor to relax slightly. She was relieved he hadn't done anything to fuel further misunderstandings.

As they reached the underground parking lot, Tara was the first to venture in. Before she could take another step, Soren seized her wrist and dragged her into a darkened alcove just off the main area.

Caught off guard, Tara found herself in the dimly lit basement, Soren's tall frame blocking her view. With his back to the light, his expression was shrouded in mystery.
