Tara panicked and backed away when he suddenly got so close. "R-Reward for what?"

She had a bad habit. When she got nervous, she stuttered. That hadn't changed, even after her last life.

Soren firmly wrapped his arm around her waist like he couldn't hold back the urge to get closer to her. He actually lifted her off the ground.

His eyes dropped to her soft lips. He said in a low voice, "I want to kiss you."

Tara immediately started struggling. Her face turned bright red with embarrassment.

"M-Mr. Farrell, put me down. We agreed to wait four more months…"

Soren was happy when he heard her say "we " instead of "me and you."

His voice dropped, low and rough. "I need something to look forward to. Otherwise, I'm afraid I won't last even a month before I take you."

Her lashes trembled as her mind spun. Why were both these men so good at seducing people?

Tara knew that if this kept going, she would lose control again.

She stammered, "So, w-what do we do?"

She really couldn't handle how intense they both were, especially since she had never been in a relationship before.

The worst part was, they were both tall, handsome, and built—and clean, too. She had needs just like anyone else, but her rational mind kept fighting back. The temptation was just too much.

Soren put the jewelry bag she held to the side and offered a deal. "Let me kiss you once a week."

Tara refused. "N-No."

Soren's voice dropped. "Tara, I know what you're thinking. The only reason I'm holding back is because… I really like you. Don't push me."

Tara's heart pounded. Her skin turned visibly redder. "T-Then… once every two months."

Soren kissed the side of her neck. "Once a month. That's my bottom line."

She hesitated. He continued, "I'm not messing around. I want to be your official boyfriend."

Flustered and overwhelmed by his teasing, she quickly agreed. "Okay. Once a month."

He said, "Today's the first month."

Just as she was about to say something, he kissed her lips. His strong arms pulled her in tight.

It was too expensive, she needed to store it properly.

A few minutes later, Tara filled her cup at the water dispenser. After taking a few sips, she ran into Peggy.

Peggy looked confused. "Tara, why didn't you come downstairs earlier?"

Tara replied, "I came down right after you."

Peggy didn't think much of it. Then, she noticed Tara's lips were red. "Did you burn your lips?"

Tara nodded. "I spaced out while filling my cup just now and nearly scalded my tongue."

Peggy was concerned when she heard this. "Are you okay? Do you want some ointment or something?"

Tara shook her head. "I'm fine. It'll go away soon."

Peggy didn't press.

Tara didn't ask anything about Lance's reaction either. Seeing that Peggy seemed perfectly normal, it was clear Lance had reacted exactly as she expected—he hadn't gotten angry.

The weight in her chest finally lifted. Soren was a lot easier to handle than Lance.
