Upon hearing those words, Lemira's smile turned cold.

Was he really trying to push his luck now?

With a hint of sarcasm, she replied, "The room was left to me by Mom and Dad. You have no right to make me move out."

"But your room is the biggest. Why shouldn't you move?" Evander argued, his voice tinged with entitlement. "Eve and I are getting married, and naturally, we should have the master bedroom. You can take Eve's smaller room."

Evander had noticed how Lemira had spoken up for him earlier, hinting that she still feared alienating him. So now, he felt justified in making demands.

Lemira's lips curled into a sardonic smirk. "Evander, you want my room, huh? Let me tell you a little story about something that happened there just a few days ago..."

Evelina's face blanched instantly. She quickly turned to Evander, feigning distress. "Evander, I suddenly don't feel so well."

"What's wrong?" he asked, concern creeping into his voice.

"I don't know, just a bit of discomfort in my chest. Can you check it out for me?"

Evander flushed slightly. "I'll call the family doctor to have a look."

As he cradled Evelina, he shouted at Lemira, "Aren't you going to call the doctor?"

Lemira took her time nibbling on her dessert, showing no intention of getting up.

Alaric let out a disdainful snort. "Evander, Evelina's always playing the sick card. Getting a doctor won't help."

"You two are unbelievable! Do you bully Eve like this whenever I'm not around? She's going to be my future wife!"

Evander had the butler call the family doctor.

Lemira cast a meaningful glance at Evelina, causing the "two-faced" girl to avert her eyes, visibly shaken.

It seemed Evelina was genuinely terrified of the video from that night, the one where she and the old butler were in a rather compromising position, getting out.

Alaric hesitated before speaking to Lemira. "Why don't you reveal how Evelina tried to set you up, only for it to backfire on her? That way, Evander might break things off with her."

"Don't you think this is more fun?" Lemira replied, her voice laced with mischief. "If you've got something to say, go ahead. I'm not stopping you."

She mused that the video had its place, but not just yet.

She needed a strategy to ensnare Evelina's father.

The trail from the foundation had gone cold, and she needed a new plan.
