Chapter 611

The biting winter wind cut across the terrace. Sydney shuddered. She could not tell whether the chill came from the cold or from

fear.

Before the thought could settle, lights flared along the dark road below. Several black sedans tore forward at high speed.

She recognized the lead car at once. It was Julian’s.

Panic surged. She lurched up from the chair, but the bespectacled man slammed her back down and clamped a hand on her jaw.” Ms. Wilson, didn’t we agree you’d cooperate? Mr. Sinclair told me not to manhandle you, but if you try anything, I’ll kill you and the kid inside you.”

He bit down hard on the final words. It was both a threat and promise.

Ice spread through her limbs. She did not dare struggle. Drawing a careful breath, she said, “I just saw Julian. I got excited.”

“Excited about what?” He released her with a snort. “The baby isn’t even his, and you still put on this act. I’ll give you that. You

women are all award-winning actresses.”

Sydney ignored the sneer and watched the cars roll to a stop at the gate.

The familiar rear door opened. Julian stepped out in a black coat, his face set.

What surprised her was not just him. Caleb followed, then more cars arrived. Nathan and the others emerged, and even Raymond was there. She also spotted Diana and James.

She was not the only one caught off guard.

Tristan stepped forward to meet them. Confusion flickered across his eyes before he smoothed it away.

“Mr. Sterling, people say nothing escapes you in Jouleston. It seems that isn’t true,” he said lightly.

The taunt was unmistakable. “Dr. Wilson vanished at noon, yet you only found her now.”

Julian did not answer. He gave Elliot a look.

In an instant, trained men spread out and locked down the courtyard. Only then did Julian turn to Tristan.

“The car accident 20 years ago. Aside from Eloise, no one wanted it to happen. You hate me. I accept that.” His gaze cut toward the villa, each word tight and controlled. “But you should never have touched Sydney.”

For a brief moment, Tristan looked startled. Julian had uncovered is identity far faster than he had expected.

Julian did not wait for a response and moved toward the entrance.

Tristan recovered and stepped into his path, calm and unhurried. “Mr. Sterling, do you think this is your house? Do you you can walk in whenever you please?”

Julian’s expression darkened. He was about to signal Elliot when Tristan raised a hand and pointed upstairs. “Why rush? I’ve already brought her out.”
