Alicia sat in her office sorting through company files. Clayton had called in sick and wasn't coming to the office, but he had secretly arranged for all necessary documents to be compiled and delivered to her.

There was so much for Alicia to learn; she hadn't had a proper night's sleep in days.

Rubbing her temples, Alicia leaned back on the sofa and gazed out the window.

She thought back on her life, her journey from being an orphan to where she was now. It all felt like a dream.

"Alicia!" Felix rushed into her office, out of breath. "Shaw is dead. Poisoned. He didn't survive. The police investigated and concluded that the new cook mistook insecticide for an ingredient. Accidental death."

Alicia's hand, holding a file, paused.

The dog-eat-dog fight between Natalia and Shaw was finally over.

Shaw was dead. It was payback for all his schemes against the Lynch family.

"Secretly find out the truth, compile the evidence, and be ready to send Natalia to prison at a moment's notice." Alicia knew it was almost time to close the net.

"Alicia, why not now?" Felix didn't understand. Why wait to deal with Natalia?

"With Shaw dead, Natalia is the only one left connecting them to the Director. She still has some value. We can use her to flush him out," Alicia explained, looking at Felix.

The fight between Shaw and Natalia had been part of her and Easton's plan, but the outcome had come much faster than Alicia expected.

That meant someone besides them was eager to see Natalia and Shaw exit the stage.

So, Alicia decided to leave Natalia be for now, to see who would be impatient enough to show their hand first.
