Assuming she had hit a nerve, Susanna pressed her advantage. "I'm the most important person in Clayton's life. He trusts me implicitly. I'm his childhood sweetheart, his one true love."

Jade let out a dark chuckle. "The real Susanna is. You're just a cheap knockoff. What, after playing the part for a few days, have you actually started believing your own lies?"

She deliberately shouldered past Susanna, making her way straight to the guest room.

Jade wasn't intimidated by this woman. Susanna was brainless—just loud and annoying. Natalia was the real viper in the grass.

Susanna's face drained of color in anger. Still, she didn't dare push Jade too far, afraid the other woman might expose her to Clayton.

"Yeah, she said she wants to work but doesn't want to use Clayton's connections," Felix replied, clearly exasperated. "Honestly, her whole vibe is intensely manipulative. She keeps insisting she doesn't want special treatment, but then won't stop name-dropping him. She 'accidentally' let it slip to the Human Resources Department that they live together."

The HR managers were terrified. If she lived with him, that meant she was his girlfriend—maybe even his future wife. Unwilling to make the wrong call, they had pushed the problem onto Felix to report directly to Alicia.

Alicia thought for a second. "Send her up. I'll handle the interview myself."
