The woman beamed, clearly having never seen her boss pay such meticulous attention to anyone.

Jade was stunned. It took her a long time to find her voice. "He... he actually said all of that? That doesn't sound like him..."

Clayton was a man of few words. He rarely spared her more than a single sentence, usually communicating in dismissive grunts or curt nods.

"Oh, Jade, he treats you differently," the housekeeper chuckled, heading back into the kitchen.
