Leo sprinted out into the courtyard, rushing toward the gates to intercept the getaway car containing the two little culprits.

All he saw was the vehicle speeding off into the distance. Anya had even rolled down the window, letting the two boys stick their chubby little hands out to wave at him. "Bye-bye, Leo!"

Leo pointed at the car's taillights, too furiously exhausted to even yell.

Chunky strolled out to enjoy the show, patting Leo on the shoulder as he watched the car disappear. "Take a deep breath, boss. Remember, in twenty years, you'll be the cool forty-something guy with a bunch of young hotshots calling you 'sir.' What's a broken keyboard compared to that, right?"

"Next time I see them, they're getting a spanking," Leo grumbled.

He hurried back inside to crawl on his hands and knees, hunting for his missing keyboard keys.

Following Leo's pinned location and Anya's memory of the route, they parked near Everglow Town. The moment they stepped out, they were greeted by the sight of curling smoke from food stalls and the bustling energy of a lively country fair.

The market was packed with locals from the surrounding rural areas. From one end of the street to the other, the atmosphere was thick with vibrant, rustic charm.

As they walked through, they noticed vendors selling freshly foraged wild greens. Spring had arrived, and some of the edible leaves were in season.

Whenever Anya spotted a vegetable she didn't recognize, she would squat down and happily chat with the elderly vendors for ages.

The two best friends, each carrying a toddler, stood by the stalls, soaking in the lively, chaotic energy of the fair.

"Mommy, what's that?" Having successfully gotten away with his crimes, Henry shifted fully into cute mode. He pointed his little finger at a massive wooden barrel.

"Those are artisan pickles," Mia answered.

The vendor handed them a small sample plate. "These are all handmade family recipes. You won't find this flavor in any supermarket!"

Mia used a toothpick to try a piece. Instantly, her son's eyes locked onto her mouth. Henry stared unblinking, his bright, dark eyes tracking her every chew. Because he wasn't allowed to eat it yet, every bite she took felt like a betrayal.

"Open up, let Mommy give you a bite."
