Wayne looked up at his brother. "Brother, if real dogs are mean, how do we make them go away?"

Lying on the rug, Henry used his serious toddler voice. "Big cats can scare them away! Like mountain lions!"

Suddenly, the conversation took a sharp turn. "Does Aunt Mia scare away the dogs?" In Wayne's mind, his aunt was a "Grumpy Kitty," so naturally, she must be the one scaring away dogs.

"Hey! Wait a minute! Sweetie, Aunt Mia doesn't scare away dogs!" Mia's nickname as the family's resident 'cat' was practically legally binding at this point. "Henry, stop teaching your brother nonsense!"

The whole family burst out laughing at the children's flawless leaps of logic.

Henry quickly corrected the record. "Mommy only hits bad guys! She doesn't scare away dogs, they bite!"

Andre couldn't wipe the smile off his face either. He held his wife close, gently stroking her hair to calm her down. "Be good. Let's hear why our son thinks that."

At that moment, Henry turned to his little brother and added, "Wayne, your mommy eats poop too!"

Jade's laughter cut off instantly. This time, it was Mia's turn to laugh. "Why did you stop laughing? We've been friends for over a decade, when are you going to eat some in front of me?"
