The guys groaned in union because Jess was good at mothering us because she was older than we were, meaning that we couldn't be irresponsible as we wanted to
"Relax guys", she laughed. "I'm not here to baby you, you're all grown and can do what you want. I'm also here to have fun for a change"
"Well that's great", Kevin grinned while rubbing his hands enthusiastically. "The last thing we need this weekend is a babysitter"
"Here are your room keys you guys", Olivia gave each of us sets of keys and there seemed to be some sort of tension between her and Nathan as she held onto his hand after giving him his keys
"I'll unload our bags from the car", Nathan cleared his throat, gently pulling his hand away from hers and walked past her
"I think I'm just gonna to go with him", Kevin quickly jogged to Nathan's pace and caught up with him. I could see the look of disappointment on Olivia's face as she watched Nathan walk away but quickly regained a smile on her face when she noticed we were looking at her.
"I need to quickly send out a few work e-mails, so I'll be in my room if y'all need anything", she smiled politely and we both nodded our heads at her before she walked away from us. I turned to look at Jess.
"On a serious note, what are you doing here?", I rolled my eyes while walking up the stairs to search for my room, and she was walking besides me
"What do you think I'm doing here?", she folded her arms. "You're about to make the biggest mistake of your life by marrying that woman, Tristan and I can't just sit at the sidelines and watch you throw your life away"
Here we go again....
"Why is it so hard for you to understand that I want to spend the rest of my life with Mellisa?"
"She's just using you as a punching bag, and you're letting her"
"She's not using me as a punching bag. We're in a committed relationship, and it's normal for couples to sometimes argue", I turned the key in the lock of my door and walked inside.
"Tristan, Mellisa is incapable of loving you the way you love her. She's a fucking narcissist"
"I'm tired of having this conversation, Jess. I need you to accept that Mellisa and I are getting married and there's nothing you can do or say to make me change my mind. Would it kill you to be happy for me?"
"Is this okay?", she placed a short stylish floral jumpsuit on her to see how it would look like while parading a little and I shook my head no
"It's just a game, not a cocktail party Jess", I pointed out, and she rolled her eyes a little
"Just because it's just a game doesn't mean I don't have to look good", she tossed it back on the bed and looked for another outfit to compare to. She may have gone overboard a little on the packing for the weekend because she legit bought two suitcases with her. Two!
When I asked her why so much luggage, she was like; there's an outfit for every occasion, and she wasn't lazy to change every hour also so I guess it wasn't a problem for her. I mean that's Jess for you, always prepared for anything. I'd always admired her for her confidence, aside from being extremely bossy and a human definition of a migraine, she was actually pretty cool sometimes.
She was beautiful, extremely gorgeous to be honest. Light blue eyes, wavy dark hair and an hour glass figure. For a fashion magazine editor she looked like a model, ever so glamours and classy. She was the typical definition of a girly girl because her hair, nails and make-up were always on point. Her outfits were to absolutely die for.
I secretly envied her life
Besides from all that, Jess was more like a sister to me because I literally grew up in front of her, and she was always there when I needed to talk to someone about girl stuff because she always gave me tangible advice, the kind I would also pass down to my daughters one day
