The Beta's second chance mate novel Chapter 14

Megan and I looked at each first before we moved to give them space to enter.

I think you might need to seat down for this." Dominic gently said.

Megan and I looked at each other in a bit of fear before we closed the door and walked into the living room.

Megan and I sat on the two seater couch leaving Dominic and Devon to seat on one of the two other couches.

"I'm a werewolf and so is my entire family. I am a beta which is the second in command of the pack. A pack is lead by an Alpha and his Luna. The beta's mate is the beta female which is what you are. Elena is the Luna of our pack and her mate whom you haven't met,Landon is the Alpha,but they are both good and kind people." Said Devon.

"Then there is the Third in command. The Third in command trains the warriors of the pack and he is the third strongest, which is me. Werewolves have soul mates which we refer to as our mates. Werewolves live for centuries and so we age quite slowly." Finished Dominic.

"We can die by being killed. We do not get sick easily and we are stronger than humans aswell as quicker. Our senses are stronger and more advanced." Said Devon.

"Then comes the topic of mates,how about we each speak privately with our mates?" Asked Dominic.

"Sure, Dominic I suppose we can speak in my bedroom." Said Megan already standing up.

"Great,please lead the way." Said Dominic standing up and following Megan to her bedroom.

When we were sure they were out of earshot did Devon only speak. "Baby,I'm sorry that I didn't tell you. I couldn't because I knew you would have run for the hills as we already witnessed."

"Mates are sacred to wolves. They are important in a werewolf's life. Isla was my mate and her death absolutely crushed me." He then stopped and sent me a smile full of adoration," But I got blessed with a second one,a gorgeous one at that. A second chance of love and that's you,Baby."

Hearing him say that with so much adoration in his voice completely touched my heart is all I can say.

"When a werewolf's mate dies it basically crushes their soul. Some wolves go through depression and others even kill themselves. Some become rogues. Rogues are wolves that have been exiled for crimes or they just left a pack for some reason."

"It's very hard for a wolf to fall in love if they have lost their mate, unless that person is their second chance mate. Having a second chance mate is very rare, having one is a blessing and a half. You count yourself as above lucky." Said a smiling Devon.

"Werewolves can't survive without their mates,then make it a second chance mate,it gets worse. As a wolf we're protective over our mates,so the protectiveness and possessiveness increases by a ton if you have a second chance mate. Then add being a Beta. The higher the rank,the more crucial it is to have your mate next to you." He finished off.

"Isabella,Baby I love you so much and I don't want to lose you,so please give us a chance." He begged.

"I love you." He kept on saying between pecks. "I love you so much,Baby." He said,giving me one last kiss,before standing up with me in his arms. I immediately wrapped my legs around his waist as I felt him put his legs under my bottom as support.

Some people may think I'm crazy, but what can I say,love makes you do the craziest things.

I laid my head on his shoulder as he walked us to the door,giving me one last peck before putting me down. Standing next to him,I'm a garden gnome I tell you. The man is a giant.

Behind us came Megan and Dominic and girl did they look cozy. I'm so going to tease Megs about this later,this is just priceless.

"Goodbye Ladies. I hope to see you soon." Said Dominic as they opened the door and walked out with us walking out with them.

"Bye Love." Said Devon as he kissed my cheek then gave my lips a quick peck. "And bye,Megan." He said giving her a hug.

"Bye guys." We simultaneously said as we walked back into the house and closed the door.

" Megs,spill." I said with a smirk, immediately after we closed the door.
