"Well? I'm waiting." She pushed.

"Briar is a Lupa Alba!" Jayden shouted turning back to face us and then quickly covering his mouth. We all glared at him. "What? She scares me."he defended.

"She's a WHAT?" Ms. Wolfe asked, the color red filling her face.

"I'm a Lupa Alba. My kind is hunted for their skin and is also the most feared in the werewolf community. Everyone thought we were extinct but...I guess not." I trailed.

"Everything makes sense now..." she claimed. "How are you doing?"

"Yeah, it just sucks because I can only smell my mate in my wolf form-"

"Did you see him?"

"-no but I smelled him."

"Oh, honey."

"yeah," I said looking sympathetically up at her.

"Well you guys should go eat. here," She handed us each a plate of fresh fruit and a hot slice of pizza. On my plate was a small slice of cake. "Happy Birthday," she smiled at me.

Smiling, I thanked her, walking out of the kitchen behind cooper and Jayden.

As we walked out, every girl praised Jayden, making him look like a star. Rolling our eyes, Evie and I looped our free arms in each of his and stuck our tongues out at the girls.

Reaching our table, I saw Chase and Flynn pass us. "hey, Chase." I touched his arm to get his attention, "Did you bring me back to my house last night?"

He tensed then loosened up. "Yeah, your mom let me in."

"Oh okay, thanks." I smiled.

"Anytime." He smiled a signature smile that would make any girl swoon, including me.

"You like him, don't you?" Evie asked me.

"I do, I really do. But I just met him so I don't want to get my hopes up. He's Chase Murray, he can have any girl he wants." I said popping a grape in my mouth.

"Yes, but he chooses to put his attention on you." she smiled and nudged me. "I'm not confirming or denying anything. All I'm saying is don't sell yourself short. Any guy would be lucky to have you." I leaned into her and she hugged me.

Cooper was my first crush and my first kiss. He wasn't trying to prove he was my mate, unlike Braxton, and we weren't drunk either. he and I liked each other freshman year. But we both agreed to stay friends since we were both waiting for our mates. He was a good kisser so I didn't mind. it wasn't intense either, like tongues, it was soft and sweet. We both still have feelings for each other and we talk about it quite often. But our decisions never change. =

I roll my eyes and him and scoff. "Of course," I smiled.

Evie came out at that moment and handed me my drink and I watched as Jayen came into view with a starbucks cup in his hand.

"Jayden...what's that?" I asked him smiling.

"Alright, my secret is out!" He threw his free hand up. "I accidentally drank Evie's drink instead of mine one day when we were at your place and I found that I really liked it...I've been buying it secretly ever since..." he put the cup to his mouth to take another sip. Evie smiling proudly next to him.

"But what is it?" I asked him curiously. Cooper watched carefully, leaning back onto the bench awaiting his answer as well.

Jayden looked between all of us before whispering something. "Uh, what was that? I couldn't quite hear you." I teased making him say it again.

He sighed, "It's a Chai Tea Latte with soy milk..." I smirked at him and took a sip of my drink.

"Good choice," I said in between sips. He shot me the bird before sitting down next to me. We all laughed at him.
