I walked through the pack neighborhood and found Cooper leaving a two story house marked "257".

"Hey, Cooper." I stopped him in his tracks.

"Hey man. What's up?"

"Where's Evie?" With that he got really defensive.

"Why do you want to know?"

"I need her help with something." He glared at me. Sighing in defeat I looked at him. "I'm buying the furniture and clothes that Briar picked out today for the pack house in my pack. I need Evie for Briar's sizes and styles. No I'm not cheating on Briar. I would never do that. I'm not that low." His expression changed as he pointed to the front door.

"She's in the living room with Jayden." Thanking him I walked in.

"Chase? What are you doing here?" She questioned looking up from the TV her and Jayden were watching.

"You know what size Briar wears in practically everything, yes?" She nodded. "Come on. I need you help and we don't have much time." She was hesitant, but then stood up and followed me out to my car.

"What do you need me to do?" She asked strapping in."

"I'm going to drop you off at the mall. I need you to buy as much as you can with whatever is on this card." I handed her one of my Debit cards as I pulled out of her pack.

"Okay what store and how much is on it?" She half demanded, half asked.

"Pink and a little over $2,500, maybe more." I could practically feel her gaping at me at this point. I quickly glanced at her. "What?"

"I can buy out the whole store with this!" She cried.

"Okay? Just buy her bras, underwear, shirts, pants...basically anything that she would need to start a new wardrobe in my pack."

"What about the clothes she has?"

"It'll add on. My closest had enough room. Oh while you're at the mall can you buy her a new dress too? We're having a pack meet-and-greet for her being the new member and it's nice wear. Not too dressy but not too casual, ya know?" She nodded and waited until I stopped the car in front of the mall store.

"Mine" he growls before pulling Evie into a long desperate kiss, that she returned.

I grabbed his arm and growled deeply at him. He growled back but his was pathetic compared to mine. He pushed Evie behind him, hiding her from me.

"What the fuck Liam!"

"You touched what's mine." He growled.

"You mean the hug?" He nodded stiffly. "The fuck, Liam! It was a thank you for helping me help Briar feel at home for tomorrow. She bought Briar's clothes and set them up. Nothing was going on." I yelled back.

"Liam, nothing was happening. I swear." Liam's expression softened when he heard her voice.

"I am so sorry Chase," he apologized, "it's the whole mate thing and I've been waiting for her since I turned. I'm sorry man." I glared at him as he apologized.

"I forgive you because I understand what you're feeling but if it happens again I will make sure you're not our go-to fighter anymore. I'm also glad that Briar will have her best friend in the same pack as her still. If you don't mind, have Evie move in tomorrow at the same time Briar does but don't let her know. I want it to be a surprise." They nodded and I motioned for Evie to follow me. Liam again held her back.
