Jordan moved closer step by step.

He was still the boy I remembered, but the youthfulness had faded, replaced by maturity and restraint.

"You deleted WhatsApp, canceled your phone number. Even the teachers couldn't find you. Hannah, you're really something."

I slowly lifted my head and met his gaze.

"You should have… used your connections to find out by now, right? My family went bankrupt. My dad got caught in financial disputes and still hasn't paid off the debts…"

"Why didn't you tell me back then?" he asked.

"Was it because of your pride, Miss Torres?"

"Huh? Hannah! It really is you!" she exclaimed.

She was even more beautiful than in college, polished down to every strand of hair.

"Long time no see. All our classmates have been looking for you. Why haven't we heard from you in four years?"

She pulled out a card.

"Take it. No need to pay me back," she said.

"Thanks, but I don't need it," I replied.

I looked at her, then at Jordan, and smiled quietly.

"I'm getting married soon. Remember to come," I said.
