For the first time, my heart ached for him.

-Kylie Smith-

The calculus test was surprisingly easy. I've been freaking out over it at lunch since I will be having it next period, because I didn't study and procrastinated pretty much when I told my self three weeks ago that I will be focused and concentrated. The next thing I know, I was stalking some hot people on Instagram with my textbook unopened for the past hours. Yeah, I kind of suck at making promises.

I lifted my head to glance at the clock. Great, 44 minutes till school's out. I was one of the few people who finished the test first and everyone else is still testing. I returned my attention to Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare.

I was so engrossed with the book that I lost track of time until the bell rang.

The thought of laying in bed while eating a jar of Nutella sounds so good and relaxing until dang---I remember that I have soccer practice today after school!

I mentally groaned. All I wanna do is straight up just take a nap right now. Stupid soccer practice. Stupid schedule. Stupid day. Ugh. Stupid everything. Grrr.

Once I packed my binders and books in my backpack, I headed towards the locker room.

Two people were pressed up the corner heavily making out. I watched in horror as the girl started to unbutton the guy's shirt. The guy's hand slipped under her skimpy short when I couldn't just take it anymore.

"Get a fucking room, idiots!" I yelled at them. They sprang away from each other and stared at me with a startled expression.

Cole.

He just ran a hand through his hair nonchalantly while the girl here---is that Alicia?! Alicia, the girl who literally beats up any guy who gets 2 feet near her?! Alicia, Cole, making out?!

What doesn't even make more sense is that he just got into a break up with Erin this morning. He couldn't have moved on that fast and easy! They spent 2 years together. They were the It couple of our school. They did everything together. I saw the way they look at each other. I cannot just believe that they broke up because it wasn't working outanymore.

Here he is, about to have sex in the girl's locker room. Scrutinizing him, he had the same boring look he always plasters. He seemed so unaffected about the break up when the image says otherwise.

Maybe he just had an headache, that's why he was steadying himself against the wall. Maybe what we thought they had wasn't what they really were.

Maybe their relationship was only based on sexual desires. Maybe he didn't care at all.

"If you don't want me to report you both. I suggest you leave this instant. Lucky for you it was only me who've witnessed such a disgraceful act. The other girls will walk in any minute and you really don't want any drama spreading around the school about how you almost ended up fucking in a school locker room if it weren't for a student that walked in." I said firmly.

Fear flashed against Alicia's eyes. She squeaked and tiptoed passed me, as if I was about to bite her, and left. However, Cole made no move.

Sighing, I strode towards him and gave me a confused look.

"I know that I'm probably the last person you expected to say this, but I'm sorry for whatever happened between you two." As much as I urge to embrace him, I restrained myself back and placed a hand on his shoulder instead.

I expected him to slap my hand away and give me a death glare but he stood still and examine my face, as if he's trying to find something behind my words.

"You should go now." I broke the awkward silence and dropped my hand off his shoulder. This is getting really awkward because he isn't talking when usually, he never keeps his mouth shut especially around me to irritate me so I'm not use to this and I don't think I can get use to the quiet Cole.

"Thanks for your concern, Smith." he finally spoke just as he exited the room and I couldn't decipher whether he was being sarcastic or not.

Right, left, left ,right. Take a deep breath. I panted as I ran with the soccer ball, aiming at the goal net, which is possibly 80 feet away from me.

"Oh shuttup!" she whacked me in the arm with a backpack.

"I still cannot get over the fact that Erin and Cole broke up." she changed the subject. "I've always thought that they were gonna be together throughout college. They've liked each other since we were way back in elementary. Cole just never had the guts to ask her out until our sophomore year. When she said yes, remember how Come quit sleeping around? I think she brought the best in him and changed him in a good way. I just have no idea how she did that because everyone knows that Erin is the biggest bitch and whore ever---don't tell anyone I said that by the way."

I was speechless. Could the break up be the possible reason why Cole was willing to risk of getting caught in the locker room? Did it hurt him that much to risk his good record over a break up like that?

Cole may be popular, but he isn't like one of those typical popular guys who fails in every class and ditches school. I know that, because I am an office assistant and I can have access to student's school information, schedules, and grades. So far, he has a good, clean record not to mention his straight A grades, a .7 GPA and he's taking all the AP classes. I'm taking all honor's classes as well but I have a B in Science. The last time I checked, my GPA was a good .5. Sorry for being nosy but sometimes I get bored and takes a small snoop of people's business, but it's just sometimes!

"I gotta go, Ky. My mom's here. Are you sure you don't want us to drop you off? My mom is cool about it." she politely offered.

"No, thank you. My dad's actually gonna pick me up. Thanks a lot for the generous offer though." I smiled wholeheartedly.

"Anytime. I'll see you tomorrow. Take care, okay?"

"You too. Tell Mrs. Brent to drive safely. Bye!" I waved at her as the car sped away.

Now, I'm the only person left in the school. All the teachers have left and no cars were left parked in the parking lot.

The sky is turning gray and the wind feels colder. I shivered and hugged myself tighter. Dammit I should've brought a thicker jacket. Wouldn't wanna be a human Popsicle.

Then, my phone rang. Dadwas shown on the screen. Impatiently, I swiped 'Answer' and pressed it over to my ear.

"Hey Dad, where are you?"
