The address Morton sent was for a park about a half-hour away.

During the drive, Anthony was unusually quiet, pressed into the corner of the car, a stormy look on his face. He didn’t say a word. Charlotte sat next to him, scrolling on her phone, not paying him any attention.

The more she ignored him, the more grumpy Anthony got. He edged closer, finally leaning against her.

“I’m tired,” he muttered.

Charlotte turned and glanced at the head on her shoulder, a little smile tugging at her lips.

“Go ahead and sleep. I’ll wake you when we get there.”

She really had the nerve to bring him along to meet some other guy.

Anthony was so annoyed, but he didn’t dare say anything harsh. He couldn’t even glare at her too obviously. Fine. Maybe he couldn’t do anything about her, but he could definitely do something about that other guy.

“Why are we at a park?” Anthony asked, getting out and immediately pulling Charlotte to his side. He gripped her hand tight, refusing to let go.

Charlotte didn’t answer. She just took out her phone and called Morton, her voice suddenly gentle.

“Morton, I’m here.”

“Anthony, are you really that insecure?”

“I just want to see who’s got the guts to try anything.”

Charlotte’s eyes sparkled with amusement at how jealous he was. She was about to say something when a clear young voice called out from nearby.
