From that point on, Jackson started staying out all night.

He thought he was hiding it well, even getting the driver and his secretary to lie to

me.

But I was the one managing the company’s affairs—how could I not know if there

were business meetings or not?

I knew that first loves leave a deep mark, so when Rachel asked me for money, I gave

it to her again and again.

Rachel always promised she’d leave after getting the money, only to turn around and

cry to Jackson, saying I was trying to buy her off.

Eventually, Jackson stopped pretending and brought Rachel right in front of me.

“You’re the one who drove Rachel away back then. You need to atone for that,

Jenna! How dare you flaunt your power in front of her!”

For some reason, he believed it was me who had forced Rachel to leave, tearing

them apart.
