Chapter 705

Third Person’s POV

Adelaide followed a group of noble she wolves to pay their respects to Luna Clarissa.

The Lunas were gathered together, Priscilla among them, excitedly showing off her new manicure.

When shewolves get together, it’s usually a mix of mutual flattery and a lowkey arms race over who looks the best.

Lycan Erasmus’s breeders were all in attendance.

Adelaide’s head was spinning; she could only put names to Tracy, Grace, and Deborah. As for the other lowerranking mates or breeders, she couldn’t place them at all.

Lycan Luna Camilla’s son was the Crown Prince, a wolf cub of pure royal blood.

Despite his young age, the boy looked remarkably mature, and his stride was a carbon copy of Lycan Erasmus’s own walk.

Tracy had two cubs, a male wolf and a shewolf. An omega brought the cubs over for Clarissa to peek at before quickly whisking them away.

The little Princess was adorable, with her golden curls tied up into two neat little buns.

Grace also had a daughter, the First Princess, who was three months older than Tracy’s girl.

Deborah had a son, the Second Prince, who was only two years old.

The Second Prince was endearingly chubby and waddled when he ran, looking like a tiny penguin.

Clarissa adored the boy. She held him, showering him with affection for a moment before turning to Adelaide.

Adelaide, come hold him. Get some of this baby energymaybe the Moon Goddess will grant you a strong cub of your own next year.

Adelaide looked at the plump little cub and reached out with a smile.

Hey, little guy. Can I hold you?

The boy hesitated, looking back at his mother, Deborah.

Deborah gave a polished smile. Go on, that pretty auntie will be nice to you.”

He finally opened his arms and tumbled into Adelaide’s embrace.

As she lifted the child, Adelaide caught Clarissa’s eye; though she was smiling warmly, her eyes were stone- cold.

Adelaide held the Second Prince for a minute before setting him down, offering a pole compliment.

The Second Prince is absolutely charming.

Deborah smiled, her eyes carrying a subtle edge. I hope you’ll be able to produce an heir for the Blackthorn Pack just as quickly.”

Even though Adelaide had zero desire to have a cub right now, she just smiled and thanked her.

Lycan Erasmus had been on the throne for five years. While some councilors had brought up the issue of a formal succession, there wasn’t much pressure, and the matter had been tabled.

However, since Lycan Luna Camilla had a male cub with high Lycan potential, he was the uncontested frontrunner for the throne.

Clarissa was incredibly affectionate with her grandchildren, but Adelaide could sense a wall between her and Erasmus’s females. She wasn’t even close with Lycan Luna; in fact, she clearly favored Adelaide.

Just then, Margot made her grand entrance.

As Clarissa’s only biological daughter, she was the center of attention.

She was wearing a floorlength pomegranatered velvet gown and a pure white foxfur cape. Her aura was undeniable.

Yvette couldn’t help but tease her. You’re the last one here every single year. Did you really spend half the day getting ready just to show the rest of us up?

Margot gave her a playful, shy glare. I did not! Say that again and I’ll smack you!

Yvette was Iris’s daughter, and she had her mother’s blunt personality. She turned to Clarissa and pouted.

Luna Clarissa, Margot’s being mean to me!

Clarissa let out a rare, genuine laugh.

Well, you started it. I can’t help you this time.

The noblewomen in the hall laughed along. The atmosphere felt lighter this year, less stabinthebackthan usual.

It probably helped that Madison and Wanda weren’t there to poison the air.

Margot, proud as a peacock, beckoned the Crown Prince over and gave him a playful smack on the rear.

Hey, little wolf! Where’s my greeting?

The Crown Prince frowned for a split second but managed a forced smile.

Lycan Luna Camilla looked down at her tea, her expression neutral, but Adelaide caught the flash of irritation in her eyes.
