She marched over, grabbed the candle, and held it right in front of Helia.

Helia took one look at the writhing threads and had to lean over the side of the bed to gag.

“Relax,” Digby said.

“In half an hour, those parasites will be dead.”

“Thank you,” Helia rasped again, her voice solemn.

Adelaide gave a polite nod and led the Northern team out of the hotel.

The room grew quiet, the lamplight casting a pale glow over Helia’s face. The feverish flush from the poison had vanished, leaving her ghostly white.
