Without giving anyone a chance to cut in, Avery kept talking, his words flying faster and faster/
“Listen to me, a lot of times, these arrogant Alphas are totally delusional. They honestly think we can’t see right through their filthy intentions. Did you see the way he was looking at Paisley? I wanted to slice him j half right then and there.”
Paisley shuddered, letting out a sharp gasp.
“Exactly! I felt like that was his true colors coming out, too! He just used to hide it incredibly well!”
Avery kept going, full of confidence in his breakdown.
“Right! Trust me on this! Irene always said that no matter how much power a male wolf has, the second he meets a female who actually triggers his desire, he won’t be able to control his wolf’s madness. Luna Adelaide, you need to remember Irene’s words too. If Alpha Lance ever falls for another she–wolf, you’ll be able to spot it instantly!”
Lance had been listening to Avery’s logic and using it to seriously re–evaluate the dinner party in his head.
Hearing that last sentence, his face instantly and he roared, “Bullshit! There’s no way in hell I’d
ever do that!”
Seeing Avery veer completely off track, Caldwell quickly stepped in to smooth things over.
“Alright, Avery, that’s not what we’re focusing on tonight.”
But Avery was still completely wrapped up in his own speech.
“Listen, when Paisley said she didn’t plan on mating, I was totally on board! Young love burns hot and bright, but after years of grinding away, the whole damn thing turns disgusting!”
Caldwell stared at him, completely dumbfounded.
It took him a long time to finally find his voice.
“God… did your Irene teach you that, too?”
“Hell yeah! Irene taught me everything!” Avery raised his chin, incredibly proud of himself.
“She’s taught me tons of truths like that! You guys want me to keep going?”
“No!” the other three wolves shut him down instantly.
Just thinking about Germain in heat was already making them a little sick to their stomachts
Adelaide cleared her throat, pulling the conversation back to serious intel analysts

“Listen, I scoped things out carefully today. Those servants in the garden are absolutely not ordinary omegas The presence they put out isn’t basic at all. There’s a high probability they’re agents or eliye highters. When I dropped my aura on them without warning, they didn’t panic for a second. That’s impossible for a low–level omega.”
Lance nodded in agreement, a sharp light gleaming in his dark eyes.
“Completely agree with your take. Those agents are likely protecting Germain around the clock.”
Adelaide continued, “Except for his study, which was on total lockdown, I basically mapped out the entre Blue Abyss estate. No obvious werewolf guards, but I can’t guarantee he doesn’t have an underground vault or a hidden army stashed away.”
Paisley bolted to her feet, practically buzzing with energy.
“In that case, I’ll find a good time to sneak back in at night and check out those basements.”
“Absolutely not,” Adelaide shut her down instantly. “You are never going back to the Blue Abyss.”
“Why not?!” Paisley protested, totally annoyed.
“Wasn’t the whole point of going to that dinner to dig up their secrets?”
Adelaide looked at her with a dead–serious expression.
“That was before we knew Germain wanted you. You are not going anywhere near him again. The man is twisted and underhanded. If he secretly drugs you to control you, you’ll end up a slave.”
“I’ll keep my guard up!” Paisley refused to let it
“And who knows? Maybe I’ll actually find his hidden army.”
Adelaide’s stance was rock–solid.
“No. Our original plan was just to figure out why Sidney invited you. Now we have our answer. If you fall into their trap, you won’t be getting out.”
She laid down the law one more time, her tone strict.
“Remember my words–you are not going back. If Sidney sends anyone to invite you again, you say no. Avery, you keep an eye on her.”
Paisley threw her hands up in defeat, offering a cheeky grin.
“Fine, fine. Since you’re putting your foot down, I promise I won’t go.”
The next morning, Lance headed straight to the royal palace bright and early.
After finishing his formal briefing in the study, he casually brought up a final detail.
“Adelaide told me that the jasmine they’re growing over at the Blue Abyss territory is absolutely stunning.
