Chapter 841

Third Person’s POV

Adelaide thought it over for a second and then gave the order.

Have Wendy dig around in secret first. We need to know for sure if the Glenveil Pack is behind this.

Paisley only gave herself twentyfour hours to wallow in frustration.

By the next day, she was right back in warrior mode, completely fired up as she took Avery along to personally run the nvestigation.

f her years of combat training had taught her anything, it was that hiding was a garbage defense strategy; the only way to win was to hit it headon.

The following morning, right before Adelaide was about to head back to the Royal Patrol, she planned to pay another solo visit to the Glenveil Pack. But Ralph stepped in to stop her.

Luna, Winslow’s breeder passed away suddenly last night. They’re buried in funeral preps right now, so showing up today probably isn’t the best move.

The news caught Adelaide completely off guard.

What? You mean Eleanor?

That’s the one,Ralph said. Edgar told me. According to him, her health had actually been improving this spring. But for some eason, she took a sudden turn for the worse over the last few days and passed last night.

What was the actual cause of death?Adelaide pressed.

I met her once last year, and her wolf seemed totally fine. She didn’t look critically ill.

Edgar said her wolf spirit was naturally weak from birth. Plus, she was constantly helping manage pack affairs, and she had major complications when she had her pups that she never really bounced back from. Lately, she couldn’t even shift. Edgar didn’t give ne any more details, he just said Eleanor had a really rough time in the pack these past few years.

Despite everything she had sacrificed for the pack, she was still just a lowclass breeder. The Glenveils wasn’t throwing her a massive memorial service, and given how much heat they were already drawing in the press, they clearly wanted to keep it on the

downlow.

Strangely, though, the news of Eleanor’s death spread like wildfire among the city.

Rumors immediately started flying that she had been slowly poisoned over a long period, hinting that Wanda was somehow tied to her death.

Adelaide thought about it and agreed that visiting now would just look messy.

Before long, Wendy returned with fresh intel. She had basically confirmed that all the Glenveil gossip was being leaked by a few omegas inside the pack.

Their motive was crystal clearWanda used to treat them like dirt, so they were jumping at any chance to get even.

During her probe, Wendy had called out the rogues leading the smear campaign.

Since you guys claim you’re just standing up for justice, would you bet your lives that this gossip is actual fact?

The rogues looked at her like she had lost her mind.

Oh Moon Goddess, of course it’s fact! Everyone knows Wanda is Madison’s birth daughter! Even Erasmus stripped her of her title- that’s living proof she was deep in that rebellion! If she had the guts to pull something like that, poisoning Scarlett out of pure jealousy is nothing to her. Only the Moon Goddess knows how many shewolves she’s actually murdered!

There was no denying that in the current political climate, the name Wanda carried an unforgivable sin.

Wendy crossexamined a few more rogues, but without anything that would hold up as actual legal evidence, she had to head back and update Adelaide first.

That same day, Paisley took a trip down to the Center, only to find she couldn’t even get through the front gate..

A massive, furious crowd of commoners had blockaded the entrance, screaming that they were going to tear the building down to the ground.

The Center’s heavy oak doors and outer walls were already plastered with filth thrown by the angry mob. .

The air was a toxic mix of furious pheromones and rotting garbage, a stench you could pick up from blocks away, hanging over the

street like an invisible wall.

Paisley’s wolf almost snapped from the sheer rage.

She flew straight back to the Blackthorn estate, and the second she walked into the pack house, Wendy dumped the latest briefing

on her.

Paisley grabbed a silver goblet off the table and hurled it at the floor, letting out a heavy, metallic crash.

Damn it! This is a total circus!

Adelaide didn’t let the outburst rattle her. She sat in silent contemplation for a moment before looking up.
