"Can I ask you why you went to the fighting ring?" Logan questions.

"Let's just say I'm starting to reach another low point in my life," I answer quietly as I look everywhere but him.

"That's not going to happen as long as I'm here," he whispers and grips my hand tighter.

"How long are you going to be here, though? How long will I have after you leave?"

"How says I'm leaving?"

"Everyone always does at one point..." I mumble more to myself than to him.

"I'm not going anywhere," Logan stated confidently. I only nodded, knowing it couldn't be true.

I comfortable silence filled the room as my eyes started to droop close again.

I wake up again, but this time the room is full of light. I squint my eyes trying to get them to adjust. I try to sit up more, but then pain flared up in my side, making me wince almost silently. I stopped all my movement and just stayed in my uncomfortable position and just stuck to it.

I looked around and noticed Logan wasn't in the room. I wonder if he finally realized I was too broken to be fixed and just left. Couldn't blame him, I probably would've done the same to myself. I try to listen to hear if anyone was coming, but I really couldn't over the beeping of the machines that I was hooked up to.

Giving up, I leaned back into the bed and just waited to see if anyone would come in at one point. Surprisingly, it was long after that where a little girl hopping into the room. Her eyes were doe-like and the same color as Logan's, but she had long blonde hair. She looked very young, 5 maybe 6. Her smile was almost contagious.

"Hi, Max!" she squealed as she cam over to me.

"Should- Should I know you?" I asked, curious to who she was. I had an idea, but still.

"I'm Macey." She giggled, her name sounded so familiar... Oh! Logan's sister.

"Logan's sister?" I asked to be sure.

"Yeah!" she replied happily.

"May I ask where you brother is?"

"Getting food. All he ever does is eat. Hes gonna get fat."

"Did you leave him there all by himself?" I asked with a small smile.

"Yeah, he didn't see me go. He said I wasn't allowed to leave his side... I did anyway," Macey smiled cheekily.

"You're going to get in trouble, you know?"

"Depends on how you're healing and how you feel, but maybe tomorrow," he answers.

I groan and flop back into the pillows that are behind me. I didn't want to stay here until tomorrow. I was fine, nothing I couldn't deal with. It's not like it matters much anyway, the wound for me wouldn't take long, they surprisingly never do. This one though would take a little longer to heal then the normal cuts.

"Can't they just give me some pain killers and send me on my way?" I questioned as I looked over at Logan

"Maybe, but then they wouldn't be doing their jobs."

"Wait! Isn't there something I can sigh that gets me out of here even though it's against the doctor's suggestion?" I was starting to get hopeful.

"Why do you know something like that?" Logan looks at me with curious eyes.

"I just do. Go get me one of those!" I said almost happily.

"Nope. I cannot do that for you, madam," Logan spoke with a weird voice.

"Yes. Yes, you can. I hate hospitals and I don't want to be here any longer!" I whined.

Something seemed to spark in his mind as he was still for a second then looked to me with smirk. He grabbed something from his bad and walked from the room without a word, leaving me there confused.
