"I really hope you burn in hell," I whispered as I whipped the gun out form behind me and aimed it as his head.
I closed my eyes and pulled the trigger in milliseconds. Blood splattered all over my face and the hallway was ringing and nothing else made a sound. I slowly opened my eyes just in time to see Grant's lifeless body fall to the ground.
I smiled. This monster was finally gone form the world and I didn't have to keep looking over my shoulder. I laughed, but it turned into a sob. Tears spilling out of my eyes as relief and pain overcame me.
I tried my best to crawl over to the safe room. I was bleeding from multiple places, my arms, shoulder, side, you name it. It must've been a sight to see, me crawling through puddles of blood, sobbing my heart out. I didn't make it far, but thankfully people peeked out of the doorway and saw me.
There was gasps and I heard a couple of cries, but everything was faded. I felt pairs of hands grab my arms and pull me up, but I cried out from the pain in them, they stopped and continued with more care.
"She saved all of us," someone whispered. "And is dying because of it."
I put back on the ground, but this time I was on my back and someone was cushioning my head. I opened my eyes just enough to see who it was. I didn't recognize her, her soft brown eyes looked down at me and her long hair was flowing over her shoulders.
"Don't worry, help is on their way. I just mind-linked James," the lady whispered reassuringly.
I nodded as I tried to go to my happy place to block out the pain.
Second, minutes, hours, I don't know, but it felt like an eternity. I finally heard people running in here. I opened my eyes and saw Logan among the people. I sighed in relief. James was with him and few more. Logan rushed over to me and dropped to his knees, James did the same, the others were checking the others making sure they were all alright.
I heard many people crying, but one in particular caught my attention. I tried sitting up but I pushed back to the ground. Logan and James were trying to talk to me, but I tuned them out when I saw Lana sobbing into her knees.
She was mumbling to herself and it was hard to hear and understand, but I managed to make out, "He's not answering!"
Her brother. Oh no.
"Lana," I croaked out to her, trying to get her attention.
Her head popped up to look at me and her eyes widened and she ran over to me, Logan tried to hold her away from me, but neither of us were having it. Lana wrapped her arms around my neck and cried into my shoulder.
I didn't want to die though. I had to fight, I couldn't leave yet.
"Max. Max! C'mon, you can't die on me. I need you," Logan pleaded and all I could do was listen.
I tried to talk to him, tell him I wasn't leaving him, but I couldn't create a sound and I knew if I didn't get help I was going to die.
Just on the verge of full unconsciousness I heard Logan whisper something that might've been just the thing to keep me fighting.
"You can't go... I love you..."
Jacob's POV-
Logan told me to go back to the pack while he stayed back with Max. He was going to stay there until she was able to be moved back to our pack. I don't know how he must've felt, it must be horrible. Max was practically dead when they finally got to James' pack doctor. It was hard for me to watch, I don't even want to know what it was like for Logan.
