"How's my little flower doing today?" Beta James cooed as he tucked a stand of hair behind my ear. I gulped and tried to pull away but his grip tightened.
"You know I've been missing you these past few days. I've been so busy with pack work but I'm free today so maybe I could show you just how much I missed you" he purred as he ran his nose along my neck.
I shuddered in disgust but he thought it must've been in pleasure because he began to lightly bite my neck.
"Beta James, your dinner-" a voice said but suddenly stopped.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked at Hazel who looked as pale as a ghost as she stared at us.
"What is it Hazel?" He grunted as he pulled away from me slightly.
"Y-your dinner" she stuttered out.
"I'll be right there" he mumbled.
She looked at me, her eyes filled with shock and horror. I tried to send her a smile to reassure her I'm ok, even though I clearly wasn't.
"Leave Hazel" he ordered and she immediately ran out the door. I tried moving away but he gripped my chin tighter and put his lips back on my neck.
I whimpered as I tried to move away but he bit harder.
I gasped and squeezed my eyes closed to try and push back the tears.
"I'll be seeing you later my flower" he whispered in my ear before kissing the bite mark and then exiting the room.
I ran downstairs and closed my door, sliding down onto the floor. I pulled my knees to my chest and began sobbing.
I hate my life. I hate everything. I hate my family.
Families are meant to love each other unconditionally but mine don't show any love or care for me except for Hazel.
I hate how I can't protect myself. I hate how I can't stand up for myself. I hate how Beta James uses me.
I hate it. I hate his hands on my body. I hate how dirty he makes me feel.
'Don't cry Rosiane. Mate will help us' Tala said softly.
'Our mate won't want us Tala. We're nothing but abused and used. He won't want a mate like me' I whimpered as tears cascaded down my cheeks.
'Mate will love us. Mate will understand. Mate can help' she replied.
'I'm sorry Tala but I can't see that happening' I responded as I sniffled.
She huffed but didn't reply. I shakily stood up and walked to my chest and picked up the small mirror I had in there.
The bite mark was surrounded by dried blood and you could still see the teeth marks. There were similar marks along my neck but they hadn't bled.
I dropped the mirror and laid down on my bed and cried myself to sleep.
. . .
I woke up to the feel of someone brushing their hand against my cheek.
"I see you're awake my flower" a voice spoke.
Jake is 24 while Layla is 22. The reason they discovered they were mates so late was because Jake went to another pack for Alpha training because our current Alpha couldn't be bothered to train his own son.
Of course the Alpha didn't tell people that. His excuse was that he'd like his son to learn new skills from other Alpha's to better our pack for the future.
It was a believable lie seeing as the pack believed him but I saw right through his lies.
The pack was currently in havoc. Every omega and pack member was running around like headless chickens trying to get everything ready.
I was helping the omegas with cooking while the pack members set up outside.
There are seven omegas in this pack and are treated the same as I am.
Beaten for the simplest mistake. Beaten for something going wrong even when you aren't to blame. Beaten for not doing as your told.
We are all beaten into submission and that's no way to live; Living in fear is no way to live.
"Hurry up mutts. The guests will be arriving soon!" The devil herself screamed.
Layla was like a bridezilla. She was acting like we were preparing for her wedding and we were messing everything up and stressing her out even more.
I rolled my eyes and continued peeling the vegetables and chopping them.
After a few hours all the food was finished and set up outside and all the omegas were dismissed while I had to stay and help with last minute touches.
"Go home mutt. I don't want our guests seeing you" my father spat as he pushed me out the back door of the pack house.
I sighed as the cold air nipped at my bare arms. I ran my hands up my arms to try and warm them up as I began the walk home.
