"Well it's nice to formally met you both" I said as I smiled at them.

I originally came to the library so I could read but ended up having a nice conversation with Jason and Zac.

I found out that Jason has a mate, Delilah, and they have two twins boys, Gavin and James, and waiting for the arrival of a baby girl.

Zac also has mate, Susie, who I found out was the women I work with at the orphanage and has two teenage girls and a son, who is 10.

I had also asked Jason what a third in command's duty was and he explained it to me.

They are usually in charge of training, unless the Alpha or Beta take over, and they are in charge of border patrols.

We were in the middle of laughing at a story Zac was telling us when a sharp pain stabbed in my stomach.

I groaned and used my hand to hold it as the pain got worse and I began feeling hot.

"Are you feeling ok Luna?" Zac asked worriedly. I shook my head and let out another pained groan.

I went to stand and then Jason reached out to help me stand but I yelped in pain as soon as he touched me because my skin burned where he made contact.

"Crap" they both groaned.

"Luna we have to get you upstairs to your room. You've gone into heat" Jason frowned worriedly.

I stood up and almost immediately felt light headed.

"The Alpha isn't answering his link. I'll look for him, you bring the Luna back to her room" I heard Jason say.

As he left the room, I heard Zac say something to me but I couldn't focus on what he was saying. All I could her was a faint buzzing noise.

A sudden burn I felt on my shoulder brought me out of my thoughts and I tried focusing on what Zac was saying.

"Luna we need to go to your room before any unmated males catch your scent" he said worriedly as gestured me towards the door.

I began walking up to my room with Zac following close behind on high alert in case any unwanted visitors arrive.

"Luna hurry, there's someone in the house" he urges and picks up his pace. I sensed the urgency in his voice so I walk as quickly as I can.

James stepped forward and I quickly scurried up on the bed, trying to get as far away as possible. I whimpered in pain as I shook in front of him.

I was weak, I couldn't fight back because with every touch he made on my body, my skin burned.

"It's been so long my sweet girl" he purred as he gripped my wrists in both hands and held them above my head.

I gritted my teeth as fire spread through my wrists. I lifted my knee up to kick him between the legs but he caught it and leaned his legs on mine, making me now immobile.

"That's no way to treat your mate little flower" he frowned though nothing but amusement shined in his eyes. I growled at him, feeling my wolf's eyes flash as I became angrier.

"You thought I wouldn't recognise you? Just because you have new hair and your body healed, doesn't make me forget my own mate" he said as he twirled a strand of my hair around his finger and held my wrist with his other hand.

The burning was becoming worse and I felt like my skin would blister and the knot in my stomach wasn't getting any better either.

"NOAH!" I screamed through the link as James began kissing my neck and I screamed in pain as the burning increased and it felt like someone was stabbing my stomach.

Tears were flowing down my face as he ripped my shirt of my body, leaving me in my bra.
