Luciana offered to go inside and find them all. I was glad I didn't have to go in there again.
While we were standing outside, Elia approached me and said, "Don't you think you were a little too hard on Sebastian?"
"Hard?" I shouted. "Did you see how he insulted Claudio? Not enough that he left Gert alone all by himself in Baenasa, when he took the two whores, then got rid of them, and offered to buy Roxana for money."
"Roxana is not Claudio's wife. Whoever wants can make a move on her," Fabrizio suddenly said.
Claudio moved uneasily and lit another cigarette, but didn't respond.
"As long as Claudio is in Romania, Roxana belongs with him. If she decides not to be with him anymore, that is her right, but as long as they are together, nobody should "steal" the other's partner. That is not how friends behave," I exclaimed angrily.
I then added in a stern voice, "Sebastian is no longer a friend of mine and I don't want to keep contact with him any longer."
Luciana suddenly left the club with the tipsy Carmen and Simona trailing her. Roxana with a red face and unkempt hair appeared from behind and said to Claudio, "Take me to the hotel, I can hardly walk."
Only eight of us returned to the hotel. We squeezed into one vehicle while leaving the other one behind, so that the others could get back. I drove since I had drunk the least and was sober enough. Simona threw up in the back and I prayed that we would arrive safely without running into any police checking for drunken drivers: Police were especially active at night close to the clubs. Luckily there were no around, and we arrived safely at the hotel.
In the morning when the first rays of light penetrated the transparent curtain, I noticed Mirella lying in bed fully clothed with her shoes on. She apparently had been so drunk that she had had to be dragged upstairs.
Being careful not to make unnecessary noise, I showered and got dressed quietly and went downstairs.
Claudio, chain-smoking cigarettes and drinking a cup of weak black coffee, was in the kitchen arguing with Roxana. Both seemed very agitated.
In a loud voice he asked her, "Where were you all evening that I didn't see you?"
"Dancing, what did you want me to do?"
"I was dancing too, but I didn't see you on the dance floor."
"I met a friend of mine and we went to the bathroom for a fuck. Is that what you want to hear?"
"Why must you always be so vulgar?"
"Because your head is full of jealous thoughts,."
"She is still asleep in our room. I came down to have some coffee. We need to wake up. The entire day will be wasted if we don't."
"Yes, you are right. The party will be over in a few days," I said.
"Listen Giorgio, I'm not sure I'll be going back with you. I may stay a few extra days as I am looking into an investment. I'm thinking I will open a restaurant or a café in Bucharest," Fabrizio said.
"What will be with your restaurant in Arezzo?"
"Giulia is doing a very fine job managing it, and recently our daughter Rosanna has been lending a hand. Either way, with or without me, the trattoria is managed quite well."
"Very interesting," I said. Perhaps Angelo may be able to help you in the matter. After all, he has a pizzeria in Bucharest."
"I have already spoken to him and he has offered to help me, but first I must find a suitable location."
"Well, it looks like I may have two friends in Bucharest. Maybe we'll all move here. Food for thought, no pun intended" I laughed.
A while later everybody came down to the kitchen. We didn't discuss the matter anymore, as I wanted Fabrizio to break the news about his decision to everybody himself.
