" I know I once said you were broken, but…I'm the one who is truly broken here. I have a reason I don't want to go back to youth home…"

I didn't even think that he was about to tell me something important, I just took the hand that was touching my rough lips, with my hands and pressed a gentle kiss on the palm. "You're not broken Lucas…you're just damaged goods." He started at me with that beautiful darkness, moving up, closer to my face…When suddenly his phone rang.

"The fuck's wrong with people today?" He hissed through his teeth, taking the phone out of his pocket. That's when I remembered. Mom! Shit, I completely forgot about her.

I ran to the bathroom, taking the phone out of my pocket. Fourteen missed calls. Crap. I pressed the little green button, dialing back.

"Hello?"

"Mom!"

"Skye! For goodness sake, where are you?"

"I'm at…I got held up at school. I'm working on a project, I forgot to tell you."

"That's not like you. I was about to call the police, but then I remembered that they have this 24 hour rule about missing children…" My mom was still talking when Lucas came into the bathroom. He seemed shocked and pale.

"Jimmy's in the hospital." He said, looking at me with emotionless expression on his face.

"What?" I said, lowering the phone.

"He got in a car accident. Kayla called me. I don't know…" He grabbed his head and turned around. "Fuck!" He yelled angrily.

"Is he alright?" I asked him, shocked.

"I don't know…I think he's unconscious or something. going there now. Do you want me to take you home?"

"No…I'm going with you."

"What?" I hear my moms voice through the phone.

"My friend got in an accident. I have to got to a hospital." I said to her.

"It's really late, can't you just…"

"No, mom! This is important. I feel sad and scared," I explained my emotions to her, because I knew she wouldn't pick it up on her own. "I have to go see him right away."

"Skye…"

"Mom! Please understand, at least this once!" I snapped at her, feeling frustrated from today's events. A few seconds of silence passed. "Mom?"

"Alright, you can go." She said calmly.

"I saw him…" Lucas shook his head. "I saw him just a few hours ago. He showed up at my house, drunk, making me…" He turned towards me. "Tell her."

"She knows?" Kayla asked.

I nodded.

"Welcome to the club, sweetheart." Kayla sadly laughed, wiping her face with Lucas's shirt.

"Is any of you related to Jimmy Kane?" A deep voice asked us. It was an old doctor, probably about fifty years old.

"I'm his brother." Lucas said confidently.

"Sure you are," The doctor said, fixing his glasses. "and let me guess, you two are his sisters?" The grey haired man mocked us. Kayla and I looked at each other, not knowing what to say. "That's alright. Let see here…" He checked his chart-board. "Yes, your friend suffered quite a few broken bones." He looked at us seriously. "He broke his right arm and leg and cracked two ribs, also on the right side. He also suffered a sever concussion, so we had to put him in a fake comatose state, to avoid brain damage."

"So, he's gonna be okay?" Lucas crossed his arms, looking all serious.

"We'll see about that when he wakes up. Which should be," The doctor looked at his wrist watch. "in a few hours. We'll see about the brain damage then."

"What if he has…brain damage?" Kayla asked, holding onto Lucas's hand.
