"I'm sorry," Amber cries, covering her eyes. I pull her to my chest quickly and soothe her. I knew she was upset, I wish she just told me. I kiss her on the head and tighten my grip on her. I stroke her hair and give her forehead a long kiss. I move the hair out of her face and tell her it's going to be okay but she refuses to believe it and keeps crying.
"Oh honey, here," Dr Carter says, passing her a tissue and Amber thanks her. "What's upsetting you?"
"I'm so scared, I'm going to be the worst Mum ever, my brother says he's okay about this but I know he isn't, I'm only 17, I don't know what to do," Amber says, wiping her tears.
"Amber, I really am fine with this, I was telling the truth," Devon assures her, squeezing her hand.
"Really?" Amber asks.
"Yes, of course I am, I'm here for you," he promises.
"Baby, why didn't you tell us before we went inside what was bothering you?" I ask.
"I didn't want to make you worried," Amber says.
"Amber, honey, don't be worrying, from what I can see these two young men love you very much, it will all work out, okay? Stress isn't good for you and the baby," Dr Caster says. Amber nods and wipes her last tear away.
"I'm sorry about that," Amber says softly, scrunching the tissue up.
"There's no need to apologise, Amber, how about we start on your medical history," Dr Carter asks. Amber nods and we reassure her by squeezing her hands. After talking about the pregnancy, her medical history, what she can do and what she cannot and all about werewolf pups Dr Carter asks her if she wants an ultrasound done. Amber looks at me for an answer. I really wanted to see them even though they're probably tiny.
"If you want one, I don't mind. I'd actually love to see our little baby but if you don't want to I totally understand," I say.
"I want to, too," Amber says softly.
"Well if you're thinking Amber is carrying twins then you're exactly correct," Dr Carter smiles. "Congratulations guys." So that's what the second blob was! "There's your first baby." She points to one of the blobs. "And there's your second baby." She points to the other blob. Oh my god, I knew we were having twins! Oh my god, I'm so freaking happy and excited. I hope her and my parents are going to be okay with it being two.
I look down at Amber with a smile to see her with a horrified look on her face. She looks up at me with shock and then back at the screen. We're going to have two beautiful babies, who will call me Daddy and Amber Mommy. I can't wait for them to be born and see them. Just seven more months, I'm so excited. Amber looks more worried and horrified, that's not good. Is she okay?! Please let her not get more stressed out.
"Did no one tell you about the chance of twins, Amber?" Dr Carter asks with concern.
"She's only changed recently and is still learning about werewolves but yes I told her there was a high chance," I smile. I lean down and give her a big kiss but she doesn't kiss back. I pull back sadly, this isn't good. She doesn't want two, please let her not her rid of them, they're our children and I've only known they've existed for a week but I love them and I wouldn't be able to bear her giving them up.
Amber's POV:
After our appointment we got in the car and went home. I was shocked, I knew there was a very high chance of two but I didn't think we would actually conceive twins. I should be happy it's not triplets, I wouldn't be able to cope with it being three. I was fine with having one, I was actually very happy but now I know there's another one. How will I be able to look after two, how will I cope? What am I going to do, how will I finish school? How will I have a life anymore, I should have thought about that before I had sex with Damian. I should have made sure we were careful but I just had to assume we were.
